Betawatch: June 12th, 2015

Well, at least they're honest.

Could it be? Is Skyforge going to release soon, or go into an open beta which is indistinguishable from release? It certainly seems like it, as the title is hosting its last closed beta week on June 24th. The time approaches! But, of course, there were other bits of beta news this week besides that.

As always, we’ve got more games on the list below. Did a game change status? Did we miss something? Let us know down in the comments, like always.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.

Is it worth adding Starmade to the list? the game is in open Alpha and freely downloadable from there website.

Valiance Online is actually in “Pre-Alpha Testing” and the link is

Thanks for the mention! :D

Rheem Octuris That game would never play outside of netbars in S. Korea.  FFS, who would want it to ever?

I just watched the trailer, definitely same IP, and the characters are from the anime.

Gunslinger Stratos is actually based on a currently airing anime (I think episode 10 or 11 just aired)
Or at least there is an anime of the same name. I assume its the same IP.

The anime is kind of convoluted… its about a small-scale war happening between parallel dimensions in the future, however said war is being fought in 2015 in Japan. But at the same time it isn’t. Like I said, convoluted. There are two versions of almost every character, and most of them are forgettable. Each time a side gets a kill, they are rewarded by the Timekeepers (A neutral judge faction) in energy cubes, which basically evolves their weapons. The whole idea of killing each other is to supposedly prevent the destruction of both world by only destroying one. Its revealed the  Timekeepers have  ulterior movies, but I don’t want to spoil the plot too much. Like I said, a bit convoluted.

Life is Feudal is for sale, early access on steam. Skyforge beta 3 wrapped up maybe last Sunday or earlier so servers are offline.
Cabal II has a download button but it just says not ready yet.

About (Ru) Skyforge. Game is still very far from finish – it’s even far from being called “beta” since there are a lot of functions and content to add and re-create (a lot of present functions are placeholders – like pantheon facilities, their cost). End-game is overcomplicated and bugged, there is very little PvE balance (“30k” invasion instance actually requires 70k team to succeed). Worst part: no balance changes during 5 weeks – with one exception: anomalies became nearly impossible to do after recent fix (weekly quest takes few days to finish instead of 1-3 hours before fix). There are rumors about big update in 2 weeks and I hope situation will be different – otherwise to prevent burnout by unfinished gameplay I’d suggest to avoid the game for 3-6 months till the devs will fix/finish it.

You forgot one open beta Revelations Online steparu recently covered it

Skyforge CBT4 launches June 23rd…not June 24th…
