Defiance’s third season includes MMO reward codes

61

Who would have thought that, three years later, both Defiance the television series and Defiance the MMO would still be chugging along? But here we are, 2015, and Defiance is debuting its third season premiere tonight on Syfy.

The show picks up from season two’s cliffhanger which introduced a new alien warrior race called the Omec. Since the series and the MMO are linked in plot and subject matter, the aliens could be making their way over to the game as well.

Players of the game would do well to check out the episodes, as each one will feature a code that can be redeemed for in-game goodies. Those who collect all 12 will get an additional reward as well.

Vhalen Ceder  I know T…. I know.  Such happens when chiefs ignore their shamans. Your talents are better deserved and rendered where you have more the control and appreciation to be sure.

There was a time when Defiance was supposed to be this crazy new experiment happening where people in the game could actually affect where things would go on the show.  It was supposed to be this one big server that everybody on every different system played together.  Then it turned out that Microsoft wouldn’t allow their version to be played with people who had the Playstation version, and the whole one server thing started to fall apart and so did the promise of the game affecting things that would happen in the show (there was no longer one central single game that the players would affect that would change the show’s direction.  The game was split up into different servers now and the whole great idea of people playing the game and affecting the show that was hyped for so long before the game was released was just dropped.

All in all I still liked the game but the whole promise and excitement of this new cross media experiment just died before it even got started and that was a bummer.

Wasteland_Courier Nordavind Did they expand the map? Since 1st year? Cause when I used to play (I bought on pre-order)… For not spoiling stuff… I reached an area and there was not much to do beside arkfalls and Season/Event shtako if u know what I mean when I stopped they had introduced swords (like lightsabers and people were getting into wars)

keysmachine Zulika_Mi_Nam uhm ya, you take a comment about a launcher way more seriously than I do and I cannot rationalize why – unless you somehow make money off of launchers.
You win…I guess….I just don’t care…….

A game that has a combined launcher is a tick mark in the con column for me when I think about playing something.  Successful/unsuccessful is not a factor in my decisions (ie I have never logged into WoW)

I may be odd, but I’m fine with that.

Ceder Vhalen I just watched the season premiere. I am rather disappointed with how the Omec were interpreted, but I have no idea what plans they have for them. You know, at the beginning of the project I had an Omec placed as the leader of the Votanis Collective. So many dreams and plans for that world. I shall always miss it.

Nordavind If you’ve ever wanted a Borderlands-type MMO, you’ll get some fun out of it. The dev team is small and it’s far from perfect, but it has a really dedicated community and fun gameplay. The summer event should be coming soon, if you ever just want to tackle waves of enemies with dozens of other players in the overworld.
