Jacobs on destroying Camelot Unchained structures and more

40

Mark Jacobs is back with a Friday afternoon update for Camelot Unchained. In it, he says that players will soon be able to destroy structures with spells, after which they will break and fall apart (the structures, that is, not the spells or the players).

Jacobs also says that the dev team hit 58 items on CU’s user stories page, including 15 new cards. A full list of changes and improvements is available via the source link below, along with more information about hirings, a tease for the next stretch goal, tidbits about the game’s UI, and some new art.

I’m playing an rpg that may be(IMO ) one of the best rpgs ever made…THE WITCHER 3 WILD HUNT. I  hope Mark has a chance to play this game and that it might stimulate some ideas …some ways of doing things for CU.

Sanzibal The depth of the crafting and building systems will help in this regard.  I do help there’s enough tools to really provide a good fountain for things like social/logistical engineering; which could also help a lot in the down time or when you’re looking to mix it up.  Though, the game from the outset has been honest that it’s not going to appeal to everyone.   Though, I think a MMO like CU is important because it’s not trying to hit home runs out of the gate, and greedily try to appeal to every person.  One of my axioms is when you make something for everyone, you really make something for no-one.  Let’s see how things pan out.

As for the graphics, I’m not expecting much here.  As they’re passable, and have at least one realm who’s aesthetic I can identify with is good for me.  Rather deal with an average looking game rather then limit gameplay to provide better poly count.  Though, that’s just me.

I predict bad things on the horizon. Not for lack of trying or marketing by mark. It’s just too small of a company, too hyped, and focused entirely on how many players can they get on a screen. The graphics will be bad and there will be no pve to keep the non niche even slightly interested. I hope I’m wrong.

Tamanous CSE_Tyler Perhaps they do, or the amount of damage you take from debris could be based on your mass (actual stat in the game) as well.  The giants by size alone will have that covered, while the smaller creatures have a very low mass; therefore, become pizza.

I’ve been waiting 12 years for a feature like this in a MMORPG. I also dig those user stories. Very unique and engaging way to roll out new info.
