WRUP: Exhausting movies that might just be Australian documentaries edition

Witness.

I’m relatively certain that I left the theater showing Mad Max: Fury Road on the same day that I went in, but I’m not altogether sure. It was two hours of movie that felt like four weeks, see. If you ever want to see a movie that spends an hour and a half not slowing down in the slightest and really making you feel the tension of an ongoing car chase, boy, this is the film for you.

I am also not entirely sure that this was actually a post-apocalyptic film and not just, like, the Australian outback on a normal Tuesday.

Leaving aside the subject of movies I enjoyed immensely, it’s time for this week’s installment of What Are You Playing, in which your friendly neighborhood staff members (and our marvelous patrons) let us know what they’re going to be up to over the weekend. You can also chime in yourself down in the comments, if you like! Witness.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Hmmmm I think Marvel Heroes or Trove. Maybe. I have it on my list to check out Wander and the revamped Villagers and Heroes, but I’m not sure it’s going to be that kind of exploratory weekend!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog):It’s almost Heavensward; time for a last bit of prep followed by some World of Warcraft and a little bit of whatever I’ve snagged off of the summer sale. Or maybe I’ll just be sick. Playing that by ear.

Jef Reahard (@jefreahard): Probably some Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and a wee bit of Elite: Dangerous.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m curious to see some of the other floors of the Orochi Tower that I haven’t yet, so a run through them until I get ’em all done is a long-term goal of mine. Past that, I’m going to be leveling up Psylocke in Marvel Heroes and adventuring through Galeras in WildStar.

Larry Everett (@Shaddoe, blog): I’m not really playing anything new this weekend. There is the Nightlife event in Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I already completed all the achievements last year. And I love the story in The Elder Scrolls Online, but there’s nothing super special that I’m doing in that game either.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I’ve kinda hit a oh-man-I-have-too-many-games wall and just don’t know what to log into! I definitely must do a Heritage Quest in EverQuest II, and I want to fly around and wander in Wander more. Of course, there is still Marvel Heroes anniversary celebrating to do; I am so close to getting Rogue to level 60! Other than that, a little motorcycle gang shenanigans in The Secret World, thunderstruck tree farming in ArcheAge, and I might even slip in a little Wizard101. If I have any extra time…

DirtyKlingon (@deekay_zero): More derping around in WildStar super-duper casually; I missed the super-cool super-laggy “event” this week. And more Dungeons & Dragons 5e via roll20.net. Otherwise just relaxing, reading some comics, and hanging out.

Jagmas (@jagmas, blog): I haven’t stopped playing Ark: Survival Evolved for the moment. At this point, I go to sleep dreaming of dinos I want to capture. If I do play anything else, it will be The Witcher 3, but I doubt it’ll happen.

Brandon “KythasWraith” Adams: Well, seeing as To The Moon just obliterated my ability to emotionally function, I plan on playing some Elite: Dangerous and Final Fantasy X Remastered to reassemble my “feels.” Heavensward is almost here, but I have enough time to clean up some of my backlog. Well, whatever existed in my backlog prior to this current Steam sale. Damn you, Valve. Damn you.
