Final Fantasy XIV releases preliminary Heavensward patch notes

It's coming down.
Early access for Final Fantasy XIV‘s first expansion is live in less than two days, and boy, there is a lot coming along with the expansion. If you thought the game’s normal patch notes were extensive, you’ll be impressed with the Heavensward patch notes. They omit details normally included in patch notes, like new recipes and quest details, and yet they still wind up being massively longer than normal notes. Like a full-on expansion or something.

Some of the details, as mentioned, are not available in the notes, but there’s still a solid breakdown of what the expansion adds. That includes elements which hadn’t been discussed before, like the new mega-levequest Temple Leves and the details on “collectable” items for crafting or gathering scrips. Take a look at the full patch notes, and yes, go ahead and hop on the hype train. It gets going and it just doesn’t stop.

And here’s that sweet, sweet “launch” trailer again:

dmoc33 Also, we knew that we had to finish the 2.0 to 2.55 story before entering Ishgard. We knew 4 months ago and people complain they had no time to do anything. I got 4 50’s in that amount of time.

DugFromTheEarth Not going to lie to you, but the game play for many many of the classes/jobs don’t start coming together till around level 30-40. Pug might be the only one who might be a bit more fun to play since you get lower cooldowns and you actually have to pay attention to flanks and hitting things in the butt fairly early on.

Otherwise, most classes I’ve leveled was just Impulse Drive spam in dungeons until I get something fun to do.

It only took my last job two days to finish the story @50 and I purposely made sure I didn’t just feed my alt job gear either, I grinded the ilvl with a friend I recruited so I didn’t leave them behind so trust me it’s very do able. Just might need some guidance from someone if it’s your first time through since guides might spoil the story.

It only took my last job I leveled to 50 two days of doing the main story quests, and before anyone says I fed my alt job gear. I actually progressed through it with a friend I just recruited to the game so I didn’t grossly outgear them. So it is easily doable, just might need someone’s guidance if you are new, as a guide might spoil the story for you.

rottenrotny eLdritchMD Hellbound Heart JonBuck even without the tomestone grind it’s going to take a long damn time on story and dungeon runs alone. There is a LOT of that after all… and the dungeons do still have gear requirements that you have to fulfill somehow. I can definitely understand the criticism. Personally, I won’t have much of a problem soldiering through it but I can see how it might be a problem.

“Sqenix is not exactly advertising it openly.”

====================

Yes they are right here: “* Please note that completion of the main scenario quest “Before the Dawn,” is required before undertaking main scenario quests in Heavensward.”

Posted FOREVER ago. So yeah, if you actually played the game, then you would have read these patch notes and the live letters and shit like everybody else does, then you would know.

Hell dude, here’s a video from MONTHS ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ij663gOlVc

This was all common knowledge like what….4 months ago. You had 4 months to catch up and you couldent even do that.

I’m honestly starting to think that you don’t play this game at all.

Enikuo rottenrotny I generally have a very opinion of the community in-game. Most everyone has been pretty friendly.
This dude above though… whoa! Sheesh.
