EVE dev blogs address overview bracket changes, Drifter lore

CCP has released a pair of new EVE Online dev blogs, the first of which focuses on the lore behind the game’s mysterious Drifter space entities. The second blog talks up Iconocalypse 2015, otherwise known as the changes to overview brackets that were included in the recent Carnyx release.

The dev team says that the reasons for changing an overview that wasn’t broken boils down to improving situational awareness and reaction times, clarifying object identification, unifying the iconography of the overview with the ISIS ship tree, and addressing “several years” of feedback that purportedly positioned the old bracket system as “not as useful as it could be.”
