EVE dev blogs address overview bracket changes, Drifter lore

CCP has released a pair of new EVE Online dev blogs, the first of which focuses on the lore behind the game’s mysterious Drifter space entities. The second blog talks up Iconocalypse 2015, otherwise known as the changes to overview brackets that were included in the recent Carnyx release.

The dev team says that the reasons for changing an overview that wasn’t broken boils down to improving situational awareness and reaction times, clarifying object identification, unifying the iconography of the overview with the ISIS ship tree, and addressing “several years” of feedback that purportedly positioned the old bracket system as “not as useful as it could be.”

lolelolols That is strange, some of the changes done I have asked for, but if you speak for the entire human race, how can this be?
I must not exist and this is all an illusion :'(

As a 4x capital account holder and a hardcore eve player i unsubbed them all as i disagreed with many of the changes made.

Eve is still hands down the best sandbox mmo ever created, but the penalty’s that went into capital traveling were way out of hand and made sure it slowly drained the excitement away from playing Eve.

I love a good cruiser / frigate / bs brawl to, but capitals were my main endgame and its just not the same anymore.
Looking at Eve subs for the past years and its no secret that its bleeding players due to many of these changes.

Next month the game might take a biggest hit ever or it becomes a great succes, chanses are many players will get a burnout from the constand haressing from entosis linked cheap ships with no intention to fight.

I hope i am wrong but looking at all these changes from the past years i dont think CCP fully understand the magnitude of changing core stuff in eve for the worse.

I simply can’t remember the last time CCP did anything interesting. More ho-hum changes that weren’t asked for.
