Betawatch: June 19th, 2015

It lives!

You could be forgiven for sort of forgetting about The Division. No matter how much it might have interested you at first, the game kind of dropped off the radar for half of forever. But now it’s on track for a winter beta and a launch next year, and we found out a bit about the game from E3, like how you can hunt rogue agents. (We also got our hands on it on the show floor, which might have been to its detriment.)

In other news:

We also have our usual list of betas past the break. Is something amiss therein? Why, tell us in the comments!

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.

I’m still surprised there has been no mention of StarMade, the voxel-based  space exploration sandbox being developed by Team Schine.

They have been working quite alot on bringing the game forward most recently adding a texture pack update,  overhauling ship game mechanics from armour and hp to the way ships handle and some new objects for ship boarding. The ship AI has also seen a new turret option added to only target astronauts.

And on a not so epic but still nice to see note. A new launcher for the game is coming soon too.

The game is currently F2P in open alpha. It can be downloaded from the website for free. And Common Minecraft and Eve Online mixed into one game has to be worth it’s place on betawatch.

Blade and Soul CB isn’t TOO far off. Can’t wait!

With the overall amount of hours that the SUBSCRIPTIONLESS game has given, as well as the expected many hours of enjoyment that the expansion will give, I see the price as very reasonable. The price is a non-issue entirely.
The biggest problem people have is that the base version -$50 edition- has no character slot.  Although it doesn’t effect me and my ultimate edition, I do see how it is an issue.   It was mostly expected that every edition of the HoT expansion would come with a new character slot to compensate for the new class being added to the game.   That is the only thing with the kerfuffle that I’ll agree with.

Siphaed Shhhh, people might start talking about pricing and stuff…..   :::::quietly tiptoes away::::::

Didnt Das Tal kickstarter fail? Most be copying last weeks article.

Skyforge CB #3 went offline like 2-3 weeks ago.

Forgot to mention that this week Guild Wars 2 went on official PrePurchase with guaranteed access to all future Betas with PrePurchase.  So technically that makes this list. ;P

One note about Valiance Online, we are preparing a large patch so the server is currently down while we test it. We will announce when the server is back up and have also pinned a Server Status post that we will update on our website and social media pages. Also, thank you to the “MOPers” for updating our info after we emailed them this week! :D
