DDO’s Update 26 introduces the Warlock class

Are you still playing Dungeons and Dragons Online? If so, you might want to know about the Update 26 release notes that were published late this week. The patch is called Warlock’s Legacy, and naturally it introduces the Warlock class which does large amounts of damage via Eldritch Blast and also features “a variety of bluff, control, and utility abilities.”

The patch notes go into quite a bit of detail regarding the Warlock class, and you can also learn more about by viewing the preview video from earlier this month that is embedded behind the cut.

Most of the explorer areas can be done solo usually you get a cleric hireling to help along. Three Barrel Cove and Red Fens are among my favorites, used to do Atraxia a fair bit then after you get leveled a bit you can do the Sands of Menechtarun. You will have to group for some of the dungeons like Wizard King so you can pug using the LFG tool without too much trouble.

VilleUusitalo “since game basically has very few solo aspects (that I know off)”

I’ve soloed no problem since they made the changes years ago, on a wizard no less. Quests scale to how many players, besides raids, and you can adjust the difficulty of them too. You can also get hirelings with gold or cash that help a good deal if you have a class setup that has a harder time.

Rustybladez Try posting a ‘Looking For Members’ (LFM) in the social panel (hit ‘o’ to open) to create your own party. You can post which quest/adventure area in which you will be playing. You can also click to join another’s LFM. Another useful tool is the Advice channel. Type /a followed by a space then your question. It will go out globally and someone out there will know the answer.

Rustybladez Warforged Barbarian, that’s how you solo. I just made it to lvl10 running solo, with a 50+ honor streak for hard. That said, there are some quests that just can’t be done by yourself, especially if you need to defend a target (stupid mobs!)

Pew Pew Pew, what fun. Just pimping out my new Warlock /  Bard in Red Fens. I was surprised that they have a bit of a tanking tree. Rolled a level 7 drow with low strength so went Tainted Scholar. Maybe try a Purple Dragon Knight / Warlock Tank Enlightened Spirit? DDO is my go to comfort game of course I still play it.

I wonder why they’re playing in a 4:3 version of the game.

I could complete all the starter town quests but the moment I stepped out solo the main gate the first mob killed me regardless of class I had.

I wanted to test DDO on multiple occassions before but always had the same problem… no friends to play with and since game basically has very few solo aspects (that I know off) the equation to play DDO is impossible. DDO has wonderfull lore and background setup and I am deeply sad that Neverwinter was published by Pefect world that basically milks of the lore at the moment.

I still dont understand why in the world Wizards of the coast sold out to Asian corporate politics :/
