Shroud of the Avatar’s update talks taming, player towns, and more

Shroud of the Avatar released Update of the Avatar #130 yesterday, and there’s quite a lot to cover as it’s a typically lengthy look at the crowdfunded sandbox’s weekly highlights.

First up is a look at a taming emote that coincidentally mimics Chris Pratt’s movements in the new Jurassic World film. Next up is a glance at the latest player-owned town template, which you’ll see live in next week’s Release 19 patch. As per usual there are plenty of screenshots in the weekly update, along with news tidbits like Steam key availability (now ready for all backers), community weekend events, and evening job openings.

Werewolf Finds Dragon You’re right in that the classic dinos in Jurassic World seemed strangely domesticated, even the T. Rex seemed “trained”

Jurassic World was awesome.  Chris Pratt was awesome.

kofteburger mindshadow That would be awesome to see a crowdfunded game reach into the billions.  :)

MatthewWard Werewolf Finds Dragon He said it above:

“To me, to kill a wolf is to kill a dog.”
“I can’t kill dogs!”

Sure, I can go with that.

kofteburger Garriott may be rich, but he’s not $21 billion dollars rich, which is what EA is currently worth in market cap.

Alien Legion There are actually a dozen or so maps in the game.  You can get them from several booksellers in the larger towns, like Owl’s Head.  But, they also explained that they’re stopping work on the maps because the scenes are still undergoing lots of changes.  They’re going to wait until the scenes are more finalized before they update / release new maps.

Werewolf Finds Dragon Way too long… care to share a TLDR version?
