Star Citizen answers questions about damage, building, and repair

I'm sure somebody thinks that's neat!

Star Citizen aims to make its damage feel complete. Your ship doesn’t take a 15-point hit; you have a blowout in your starboard plasma relays, and you then have to take appropriate actions. But how does that translate into gameplay without being overly complex? The latest set of community questions and answers from the designers make it clear that it’s more about breaking the response down to a series of simple actions, so while the overall process is complex, the actual play is straightforward.

The devs also cover building structures and how things like repair bots will work; they’ll probably fix things up when ordered but will be focused on a patch job rather than full repair. You can watch all of the answers in the video below, or you can read through the transcript if you’re not in a place where you can watch videos freely.

Some interesting snippets of info regarding repairs.  Glad to see the devs designing these systems are looking forward to concepts other than just combat.

tobascodagama Mohoc captainzor MatthewWard I wasn’t insinuating anything?  They often report on personnel changes in the industry, so I was wondering aloud if they’d cover this one, being rather high profile.

Mohoc captainzor MatthewWard STOP DEBUNKING ALL THESE ATTEMPTS TO INSINUATE THAT CIG IS BEING SHADY. Why do you have the ruin the circlejerk with all your stupid “facts”?

Looking forward to the next thing after the combat sim.   That was fun for a bit but gets old after a few matches, as they take a little while to resolve.

No article/mention of the FPS module being delayed indefinitely?
