Betawatch: July 3rd, 2015

Some people just won't let go.

I freely admit that I never actually played Glitch, but I was glad it existed and sad at the people who never even had the chance to play it. So it does my heart good to see that Eleven is rallying on full steam ahead to produce a playable version of the game for everyone. You guys keep doing your thing.

Meanwhile, there were no other beta things happening, and by “no other beta things” I mean “several other beta things.”

We also have a full list of games past the break, and of course, we’d love to know if there’s a game on that list which shouldn’t be or one that jumped statuses without telling us. Games are sneaky, sneaky things.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.

Aye.  And there’s a kerfuffle about some high-profile streamers getting in while the [entitled] vet WvW players who claim to “PIN up at least 30hrs a week!” did not.

This Wvw Beta and Docgotgame from Guildwars2

So this is how they are selecting active WvW players to stress test new map… from Guildwars2

I have no issues with them inviting Streamers. Honesty see it as better inviting semi-casual people who will bring more publicity to the game than a bunch of try-hards who’s toxic behavior of self-importance turns off potential players. Tis a good thing.

gw2 HoT has an stress test from its new WvW map next thursday July 9th. Only for a few lucky dedicated wvwers who had been invited, but still it is an stress test.

The open beta date for Skyforge is July 16th, and this case “open beta” rhymes with “soft launch.
????? Am I reading this wrong, or…? “and this case”???
