Star Citizen gets a monthly report, Star Marine status update

Hot on the heels of last week’s Star Marine delay update comes a new monthly report from Star Citizen chairman Chris Roberts. As per usual, the report is a lengthy look inside each of Cloud Imperium’s worldwide studios as they work to fit all of the different pieces of Star Citizen’s sprawling space sandbox gameplay into a cohesive whole.

New this week is an update specific to the aforementioned FPS module. When he announced the delay last week, Roberts also promised that weekly status updates would be forthcoming as the developers work toward solving the module’s various challenges. This weekend’s update takes a closer look at the engineering issues Roberts mentioned previously.

This isn’t about Chris Roberts nor is it about CIG or its staff, its not even about Star Citizen, this is all about you.
Its about how you are a spoiled, impatient and entitled individual who don’t care about how anything but yourself.
You don’t understand and don’t want to understand how software development works, you just want everything right now everyone and everything else be damned.
And if you cant have it now you don’t care what the reason is, you just throw a tantrum like a spoiled little brat who are used to getting everything handed to them on a silver platter the instant its asked for.

I would frankly not be surprised in the least if you happen to have been raised in an environment where you could just snap your fingers and have everything you wanted handed to you instantly, and nobody dared speak out against you for fear of retaliation, your attitude here certainly shows clear signs of being such an individual.

But you know what?
Nobody here cares, the only reason people respond to you is because it amuses them to see how you are desperately trying to get them to agree with you, because you cannot stand not being right.
And when you no longer amuse them or start insulting them, they report you and have you banned until next time you return, and the cycle starts all over again.

I hadn’t been following the Mayberry Controversery… Now I’ve read up and everyone seems to be upset about a guy best known for WoW/Diablo stuff has left SC?  I call it “good news” and hope that the game will take a turn for the better. That said, I hope the personal reasons aren’t health related and hope Mayberry can find himself something he is better suited for (although preferably not in a game I’d be interested in playing).

Vikingr andrejs Hope you have a lot of money to spend and buy ships forever. They will need more and more of the few folks that are with them yet.

As GoJammit said, Alex Mayberry. Ben Lesnick has confirmed that this article on Yahoo — https://games.yahoo.com/news/star-citizen-executive-producer-quits-180200272.html — is accurate, except for the part that the FPS module is delayed indefinately.

“They even posted a 4th of july picture from ArcCorp (the location that will be used in the social module)”
I haven’t seen that yet. Link?

what you consider is “The core of the game” is not relevant. Chris Roberts is making his dream game and THAT is the core of the game. It will be released when it’s finished. Simple as pie.

andrejs GoJammit You don’t know anymore than you did before. He left for personal reasons.

GoJammit andrejs “Hey! I can’t offer much of an update beyond to say that the article is accurate. Erin will be stepping in as head of Global Production.” – Ben Lesnick

And now I know why the guy left :D

andrejs GoJammit I believe they said it. Zero impact? Not really sure. Someone taking over someone else’s responsibility would have to have some impact i guess, at the very least on that person’s daily routine and workload. Will it delay the game? I don’t think so. There are a lot of people, some people will work a little harder or on additional things for a while. it shouldn’t halt production of the game though.
There is that Rule 9 you posted which is why they closed the thread. You posted it and still can’t figure it out?
