The big focus in EVE Online recently has been Sovereignty, the process of taking control of the valuable resources in nullsec space. But how does it work? What are the basic mechanics behind it? If only there were a brand-new video from CCP Games explaining all of that in broad terms that you could watch just below!
You get the idea.
There’s also an extended series of tutorial videos that go into more depths about the systems, but the video below will give you an idea of how stations shift ownership and when your claim to a portion of space becomes the most vulnerable. If you’ve never played EVE Online but want to understand how control of space can shift, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Perfect Hero The video is actually nothing but “icons/shapes that represent ships” so if you want to insult EVE then you should be saying it is representative of reality :p.
Ugh, it’s just too structured with so many rules. It’s just another way for blob fleets to organize a chaotic game of Domination. Even with base guns and modifiers, small fleets will still get murdered when the entire enemy armada rolls in.
Perfect Hero You and I play EVE quite differently.
Perfect Hero Thankfully EVE’s meta game has zero reliance on what fights looks like. Â You don’t see major news outlets covering PvP in other MMOs because, while those fights may look pretty, they ultimately don’t matter in the overall scope of those games.
Perfect Hero a spreadsheet comment.. how original. You are clearly a winner.
annoyedbadger That is my feeling as well.  So basically a minimum of 96 hours to take it over :P.  Then numbers win out too it sounds like since it’s  not about power or speed but covering the most space at a time.
wow, that whole process seams incredibly contrived and convoluted and will as I understand it, basically mean large alliances never lose stations.
yeah, funny since videos are only way to do anything with game because it is still down

Of course in reality it looks nothing like this. The fights are always icons/shapes that represent ships floating around on a nebula backdrop. Eve is always much better if you read about it or watch the videos. As a player it feels like you are a single line in a huge spreadsheet.
“But how does it work?” Â Nobody knows, EVE has been broken all day :D
