Neverwinter: Strongholds will launch August 11th

11

For the past two months, Neverwinter has been all about the next major patch, which will give players the ability to band together, take control of a stronghold, and then take on other players with their own strongholds. Now these antics have a date. Neverwinter: Strongholds is launching on August 11th on the PC.

The rollout for the patch will be done in stages, starting with the PvE elements with PvP to come in a month later. Console players will have to wait a while longer to enjoy all of the capturing action. You can check out the announcement trailer just below; it’s been out for a little while, yes, but it seems appropriate now.

I am curious about Strongholds but cannot find the info I need. I occasionally play Neverwinter with some friends, but we are not interested in PVP. I keep hearing about how strongholds will have things for PVE and PVP players, but what I want to know, can you have a stronghold and choose to avoid PVP altogether? If yes, I can see myself investing more time with the game. If not, I won’t even bother trying to get one and will continue to only play it occasionally.

Kirin I had to laugh when the Hero of The North pack had a pricing error on the Steam Ukraine store marking it down from $240 to .10c or something. Snapped that up tyvm lol

Nah, I never bought WoD. I finally kicked the WoW addiction back in Pandaria. xD

teppic SeanNeubert NW never really had good PVP, honestly sometimes I wonder why the game even had PVP at all. I agree though that they have had their fair share of bugs/issues. I have not played since the whole Xbox move, so I wont comment on that.

SeanNeubert The problem for me is the number of issues with existing content that need to be addressed – e.g. exploits, totally broken dungeons/skirmishes, balance problems, very poor PvP. It has a lot of brilliant content, but I get the feeling they’re using the PC game as a beta for the consoles.

Not commenting on the game being good or bad (I enjoyed the time I played). But I love the fact that Cryptic seems to be pushing fairly large content updates for both STO and NW on a regular basis. I know that doesn’t help Champions fans… but still refreshing to see this.
I’m sure there are still tons of lockbox locked stuff (apparently not everyone hates them), but from what I have seen of the STO/NW updates they are normally full of a lot of FREE content/missions/quest/new lands as well.

Kirin The correct answer is yes. I have payed for my Dragonborn pack with ingame farmed money. It’s a premium race, you need to give something for it. Time or money.
