Star Citizen’s Lesnick promises ‘incredible progress’ and addresses concerns

Maybe... maybe stop addressing him over and over?

The war of words between developer Derek Smart and Star Citizen isn’t over yet. A recent livestream for a German fan channel saw director of community engagement Ben Lesnick addressing fans not just on the future of the game but on the recent controversy and the issue of refunds. Lesnick specifically stated that this sort of skepticism is why the game went to a crowdfunding platform and that supporters will see incredible progress in the coming weeks.

Lesnick also stressed that everyone is welcome to his or her opinions and that Smart is hardly the first (nor likely the last) person to raise similar concerns regarding the ambition and scope of the game. It was also mentioned in passing that the next planned update to the game’s test servers will likely be delayed to next week.

It should be noted that Lesnick’s interview was conducted before Smart’s most recent demands were published.

F1Seb I am also a supporter of SC. I was making a point against Derek Smart and his idiotic anti-SC campaign.

1. CIG never said they would show us their finances, all they said was they would show us their development.
Unless of course you can provide a statement from CR or CIG saying they will show us their finances.

2. I think I know the TOS change you are referring to, but it had nothing to do with showing their finances.
Unless of course you can provide proof of said change.
And they have the right to change their TOS at any time they choose, if people don’t agree with it they have the choice to reject it.
There is nothing shady about changing their TOS as long as they inform their backers of the change and give them the option to reject it
I have seen other online services I use change their TOS a few times, does that make them shady as well?

odium Darkwalker75 TronSheridan McSleaz I think you need to re-aquaint yourself with the TOS:

RSI agrees to
use its good faith business efforts to deliver to you the pledge items
and the Game on or before the estimated delivery date communicated to
you on the Website.  However, you acknowledge and agree that delivery as
of such date is not a firm promise and may be extended by RSI
since unforeseen events may extend the development and/or production
time. Accordingly, you agree that any unearned portion of your Pledge
shall not be refundable until and unless RSI
has failed to deliver the relevant pledge items and/or the Game to you
within eighteen (18) months after the estimated delivery date.
For the avoidance of doubt, following the Cancellation Period,
in consideration of RSI’s good faith efforts to develop, produce, and
deliver the Game with the funds raised, you agree that any Pledge
amounts applied against the Pledge Item Cost and the Game Cost shall be
non-refundable regardless of whether or not RSI is able to complete and deliver the Game and/or the pledge items. In the unlikely event that RSI is not able to deliver the Game and/or the pledge items, RSI
agrees to post an audited cost accounting on the Website to fully
explain the use of the amounts paid for Pledge Item Cost and the Game
Cost.  In consideration of the promises by RSI
hereunder, you agree that, following the Cancellation Period, you shall
irrevocably waive any claim for refund of any Pledge that has been used
for the Game Cost and Pledge Item Cost in accordance with the above.

Darkwalker75 TronSheridan McSleaz Who has been asking are not general public. Are the backers. And CIG told that would share.

c71clark I sincerely hope they do   Of course, if SC pull it off no doubt Mr “Smart” will arrogantly try to claim credit (as if CIG had been sitting on their hands over the past couple of years).  Naturally the rest of the world will just tell him to STFU and stop acting like a child.

Cotic_OP And yet, those “tech demos” are allegedly going to be showing more than certain recently released space games.

Perfect Hero Absolute rubbish, I voice my concerns all the time on the SC forums and have never, ever been “ejected”. Which goes to show that it’s not just what you say, but how you say it that matters.
So please, do us all a favour and quit with the hysterical nonsense.
