ArcheAge makes amends for past mistakes by banning bots and easing up on RNG

In responding to a post on ArcheAge’s official forums about the game’s missteps and its future, CM Seraphina Brennan assured players that Trion is listening to the community and learning from its past handling of the title.

“While we cannot go back to the past in a time machine to alter the decisions made (though that would be cool), the team is committed to learning from those mistakes and discouraging them from happening again in the future,” Brennan wrote.

Two immediate improvements were mentioned in the response. The first was an “easing up” of ArcheAge’s infamous random number generator (RNG), with better drop rates for much desired items. The second was an assurance that the team is going all-out in its war against botting and hacking, with Brennan saying that bot banning has increased 300% in the past two weeks.

GM name was botyx pretty sure he wasn’t a real GM or human being because the only 2 GMs that handle this are GM nord and Zeltari

Dumbass trion banned my account and claimed I was a bot. I messaged the support wouldn’t even bother to test if I actually ran a third party system. just said I did and the ban was final. had just got a month subscription no refund or any reprimand for my losses. Everyone should just leave this game and all game associated with it. maybe a new company can take these games from these douch bags.

Dandurin Robert80 squidgod2000 Telos_  Ew.  That’s far too much scheming to deal with for playing a game.  Not to mention grinding.  At that point, start cutting lawns… it’s faster and less painful!  (Assuming you really want to play the game.)
I agree you can limit weekly progress to help casual players keep up, but the labor point system is a terrible implementation of that, especially being so tightly linked to every single aspect of the economy including loot.  I’d imagine most casual players would opt not to pay for a sub, which makes playing as a casual with the system as it is… a dreary prospect of mind-numbing tedium.
I don’t mind a task taking time, but I do mind pointless annoyances thrown in the way.  I also mind if the task that takes said time is not fun in some way (it could be challenging, or have minigames, whatever, but it needs to be worth spending the time on!)

The “best” way to play is to buy/earn one month of patron then “sell” labor for Apex on the Euro servers to pay for for Patron on an NA server (or vice versa).   (You do this by AFK grinding  raw materials into processed ones for auction, and accumulating the valuable daily Loyalty Points).

I played for nearly a year post alpha without paying anything.  Even had two (patron) accounts.

I agree that if you play without Patron you are missing too much of the game, but it can be done with no cash.

I am with the “pro labor-point system” crowd, letting everyone farm and craft 24/7 would put casual players too far behind the power curve right from the start.

It is getting traction, but its very slow going since they’re not a lot
of legislators that are savvy to the inner workings of these games. Many
of these virtual currencies and RNG systems are skirting the laws of
the gambling statues in some states. I’m hoping that these companies
police themselves, because once the government realizes that these
titles should be put in the same bracket as online casinos they’re going
to take a strong revenue hit.

Nacho Biz I have brought this up previously but it never gets any traction. I’m shocked to see that another human being on this planet sees it the same way I do.

How are paid loot boxes with RNG results NOT akin to a slot machine? This is gambling and I don’t care how it’s spinned, you can’t deny it. Certainly this runs afoul of U.S. federal law. I don’t know how this flies under the radar. I found it most egregious in TERA.
