PSA: Star Citizen can be downloaded and played for free until July 31st

So you're accelerating.

Do you want to try out Star Citizen for yourself now but don’t feel comfortable spending any money on a game that doesn’t actually exist in more than fragmentary module form yet? In honor of QuakeCon 2015, the game has thrown open the gates to anyone who would like to join up and try it out before July 31st. It’s not unlimited access, but it will grant would-be players access to the Arena Commander module along with a Hornet F7C for flight.

Enter the promotional code QCFREEFLIGHT2K15 when registering on the official site, and you’ll be able to download and go. It’s a sneak peek of what the game will look like, and for existing players it’s a new set of people to blow up. Everyone wins, aside from possibly internet warlords.

Darkwalker75 uglita tobascodagama unionghandi “they never ever promised a fully co-op campaign.”

Nobody is talking about FULLY CO-OP CAMPAIGN but you, again and again. It seems that you are not even reading my posts when I told you that I never mentioned anything about this expectation or that they said THAT.

But I am going to even try to explain to you what hte issue is anymore, because you are only interested to troll me and twist my words.

So… good luck WK in your mission.

You can claim they broke the promise as much as you like, the fact of the matter is that they never ever promised a fully co-op campaign.
They promised co-op, which we are given, just not in the way people assumed based on nothing but personal opinions and expectations.

I have asked you repeatedly to provide a source for your claims, so far all you have given is your statements and those of other people, but nothing official from any of the devs to prove your point.
If you have a concrete statement from the devs, provide a link to it, otherwise stop trolling… Manez

tobascodagama Darkwalker75 unionghandi From the original description of Star Citizen:
“Single Player – Offline or Online(Drop in / Drop out co-op play)Squadron 42 – A Wing Commander style single player mode, playable OFFLINE if you want
Playable offline or online, co-op with friends, you sign up for a tour of duty with the UEE fleet, manning the front lines, protecting settlements from Vanduul warbands.”

Original pitch video (minute 3:30):

From the instances explanation:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/12770-Chris-Roberts-On-Multiplayer-Single-Player-And-Instancing

“The same instance system underpins the single player Squadron 42. If you’re playing off-line, your computer will be acting as the server and client, there will be no opportunities for friends to join and everyone will be an NPC. But if you play Squadron 42 through the Galaxy Server, even though your missions and space areas are pre-determined (you don’t get to pick where in the galaxy you are flying if you’re in the military) we will allow your friends to drop in / drop out to take over NPC wingmen and if you want extra skill ranking you can allow other players to drop in and take over enemy ace characters. This system is pretty similar to the Demon’s Souls setup where people could drop in as a Blue Phantom to help you kill a boss monster or fight off another invading player, or you could drop in as a Black Phantom to someone else’s world and try and kill them for XP and other gamerewards.
The key to all this is to allow player choice – you want to play alone you can, want your friends to join you in co-op we allow that and if you want to be challenged by other real players you can do that. The special part is that it can all happen in the same holistic universe.”

tobascodagama uglita Darkwalker75 unionghandi Last I heard Chris Roberts and Erin Roberts were part of the CIG team.

uglita Darkwalker75 unionghandi Links to non-CIG devs are 100% fucking worthless when you’re trying to claim that CIG is breaking promises.

Darkwalker75 uglita unionghandi 1. They said that SQ42 campaign would be coop. Nope. They are not going to do that. They are going to get some missions from there, put it OUTSIDE of the campaign, disconnected of a campaign, and there you will be able to play in multiplayer. That is totally different from what was advertised and told in the KS description, in the original pitch video where CR described by his mouth Squadron 42 and from what he said later in the comm-link about multiplayer instances.

You keep saying that I did not post links and you can’t talk, which is indeed, a very funny reaction of someone that would be really worried in knowing the true about things. You obviously are not and prefer to live in denial.

2. Yes. I provided the sources. I even put the links here. For some reason, my comment with the links did not appear. In any case, I pointed what are the links so you could have find yourself.

3. There are links. You are just pretending to people, so they did not search by themselves.

Are you still ashamed or something?

Because you know… you said:

“They never, ever said that SQ42 would be Co-op.”

and now you say:

“The post you are linking only says co-op in SQ42,”

just as you said in the past:

“…According to all information released the SQ42 CAMPAIGN are sp or coop…”

LoL

You should follow your own advice and stop to try.

Again you are twisting words and you are not providing sources.

1. The post you are linking only says co-op in SQ42, it says nothing about it being the way you claim it will be.

2. You have not provided any sources anywhere, you have so far only provided 2 links, and both of them leads to posts by random backers, but nothing from any of the devs.

3. There are no links to any videos in the thread you are linking here, as you so blatantly claim, in fact there are no links to any videos in that thread at all.

When you are ready to provide a real source, one from either CR or one of the devs working on SQ 42 then we can talk.
Until then I suggest you stop, because you are just trying to make something of nothing here.

Erin Roberts interview about Squadron 42 from starcitizen

“We have also included a multiplayer mode which gives the possibility
for both coop and PvP. The multiplayer mode is about short, intense
mission instead of telling a story.”
In short, Squardon 42 was never, ever touted as having co-op for the entirety of the campaign.  Regardless of what someone thinks it was going to have.
It’s not CIG’s fault if some jumped to conclusions before getting the facts.

tobascodagama uglita Darkwalker75 unionghandi Not sure what do you mean about that? There is the video with Erin Roberts statements in the OP of that forum thread.

And the fact that CIG did not post there in that thread is obvious… If was some misquote/mistake from Erin or something, they would jump quickly to answer that it was a mistake and put the thread to rest, as they always do when its the case.

They did not answer because they are probably trying to find some better excuse now, which probably will come with some televangelism from Mr. Roberts.

In any case he said that “people would still get the original promise and just would get more”. And clearly that is not the case anymore. Because expanded scope (Cut-scenes, plot and graphical fidelity?) or lack of capacity to make the multiplayer work even by 2016 (when SQ42 finally comes out probably) they are simply cutting a main feature advertised at the beginning.

The irony is that cutting meaningful features in favor of cut-scenes is what a publisher would do. Irony, because in their case, they bash publishers all the time.
