samgilsig SwobyJ It might be that. Still not totally convinced though, but thank you :)

SwobyJÂ samgilsig I have shadows at 2048. I find that the difference between 1920 and 2048 is noticeable at 1920×1080, whereas to see a difference higher than 2048, you’d need 1920×1200 or 2560×1440

Definitely eager to play this new story, but im regretting starting a romance with lana. I wasnt expecting your primary romance to know about it thinking there wouldnt be any continuity between the expansions. Guess im gonna pay the piper when Mako finds me after waking up…ugh…not gonna like it.

SwobyJ Those pictures are from in-game cutscenes, which do look that good on Ultra. They’re cutscenes, not gameplay.

SirMysk Greaterdivinity sray155 It is an issue with the engine, hence why I suggested that perhaps with the solo focus of the expansion they can get a little more out of the engine, given there are no other players around.

Greaterdivinity sray155 Yeah I’ve always passed it off as a limitation to the “hero engine”. even ESO has odd visual limitations and performance issues and they’re clearly running a much newer version. Why Bioware essentially insults their player base rather than admitting to technical limitations, though, I’ll never know.

sray155Â Yeah, issues on BioWare’s end is all I can figure, because the whole, “People are too stupid to know how to change their graphics settings.” excuse is pretty awful. I think they still have all kinds of technical limitations/problems on their end that is preventing them from doing a lot of what they want but don’t want to admit it, so they use excuses like this or “We don’t want to have cross server LFG/WZ’s for design reasons.” when at this point I’m pretty much 100% convinced that’s also a technical limitation.

Greaterdivinity Dnote In all likelihood it was something causing problems at their end that would end up lagging out players. DCUO also had high rez textures during their beta that were removed. At least we go tan explanation there: the high rez textures caused server side issues for the Playstation users, so the high rex textures were disabled because they didn’t want one version of the game to look significantly better than the other (not a bad move either: Playstation players outnumber PC players by something like 5 to 1, and heavily outspend PC players as well).

Dnote The HD textures were in the game during the beta and were inexplicably removed because apparently BioWare was worried that people could figure out how to change graphical settings (that was basically their reasoning/excuse). The only reason they wouldn’t be in the game is an engine limitation or something that was entirely on their end, because computers are more than powerful enough to handle the higher resolution armor textures.
