Demon Hunters HATE this holiday

It’s only been a day since the announcement of World of Warcraft: Legion, but fans are already eager to learn more about the expansion. Fan site Icy Veins was able to get a quick interview with the developers that reveals a few more interesting details on the expansion as a whole, from the new Demon Hunter class to mechanics that weren’t discussed during the presentation yesterday.

Artifacts are confirmed to be the only weapons players will get during the expansion, with no weapon drops in Legion; however, each Artifact will have Relic slots that improve the weapon’s stats and DPS. Demon Hunters, as a result, will wind up with just one type of unique weapon being used throughout the expansion, the Glaive. Professions are also being adjusted in depth for the expansion, with the designers acknowledging that Warlords of Draenor underutilized the profession systems. Check out the full interview for more tidbits about the new direction for the game.

Only to normal transmogs.  You can’t transmog them to a previous legendary like Shadowmourne.  Which is nothing new.  I’m just saying people are getting psyched thinking finally they’ll give normal players a legendary.  The reality is it’ll just be more of the same.
Blizzard always pulls this crap.  They always have a hidden catch on anything that sounds like a step forward.

With the melee hunter change, I’m really interested in Shaman changes. If they can wield two handed weapons effectively again, I will scream with joy!

ManastuUtakata Funny how i can relate to this so bad. Currently been playing FF14 for a few months in a row now after coming back before the expansion launched. I love every minute of the expansion so far, and surpirisngly im not hurt by the lack of weapon choices, instead i just try my best to go for the best looking one that fits my armor and then i just glamour the shit out of everything. :)

7BitBrian There might even be a hammer for one of the specs? Since there is one artifact per spec, there’s probably a hammer for one of them? And if not, just transmog the weapon into one.

melbrankin ManastuUtakata Have you missed BoA Leveling Gear or what? Complain about 10 levels when people are already doing it for 80+

Looks meh. I wish they went with the weapon thing though in Wrath with the Death Knights since their Runesword was their thing lore wise.

So here’s what I read between the lines.  Aritfacts are “legendary weapons” that upgrade with new visuals.  Sounds like it’s pro casual for once?  Wrong.
These relic slots will probably upgrade the visual appearance. The truly awesome looking styles will still be restricted to mythic raids.  Anything resembling a legendary appearance will be locked behind some truly asinine quest chain.
Probably the coolest upgrade will be the new “legendary quest” for the expansion.  Where you’re forced to stay subbed for a year slowly collecting tokens every week in raids.
People forget how Blizzard works so easily.  They always hype up some feature and quietly keep secret some hidden twist to keep things unpleasant for non raiders.

If your enjoyment of a weapon drop depends on other players not getting it, MMOs may not be for you.
