Gamescom 2015: Star Citizen gets a monthly report and a big Gamescom presentation

418

It’s a big day for fans of Star Citizen, as Cloud Imperium has put out a typically massive monthly report. Oh, and there’s that little multicrew-themed presentation at Gamescom, too. It’s going on right now, in fact, though it will also be archived for repeat viewing on Star Citizen’s website next week in case you’re stuck at work.

The monthly report rounds up a bunch of stuff that CIG studios around the world were working on in the month of July. It includes everything from engineering to code to design to art milestones, as well as recaps of recent video presentations including Chris Roberts‘ latest Game Commander and 10 for the Chairman episodes. Basically it’s your one-stop shop for the info needed to laugh at Star Citizen’s vaporware comment trolls, so have fun with that!

SimyJo What you’re looking for is more the capital ship mechanics, that’s coming way down the road.  This was just a simple test to show off literally what it was, having multiple players in the same instance.

SimyJo Don’t forget they DID show off how someone can use the engineering stations to get the ship working again, and then the pilot got the ship home.  So they did show a bit of what you expected….allbeit a limited amount.  I think they were more interested in showing the stuff off they did, in
order to prove it all worked together. After all, the large world maps, local physics grid etc are all needed before they can drill down into how the consoles work together.

I would have preferred there had been someone on the derelict that they had to fight against. Also would have liked if they had had to do more repair. Looks like they just had to turn it on. The only real multi crew functionality was the gunners and the guys who were co trolling the shields and power. They didn’t fit to them very often, but they were not being controlled by the pilot.

I am really looking forward to Star Citizen (Digital Freelancer + DUR upgrade package) – but MY GOD!!! – that Gamescom 13 min (so-called) Multi-Crew reveal was BORING!!!.

I expected Multi-crew reveal to determine how a crew worked together inside your ship – not just a handful of marines standing around inside a Retaliator and then a spacewalk and exploring an abandoned ship in zero crew.  Genuine WTF moment and let-down. No crew-mechanics reveal whatsoever.  :(

livephantom Estranged midimaker  OMG. A picture with “timeline” (linha do tempo) and “people” (pessoas) without any context!
[Fun fact : Fernando Pessoa was a prolific writer who used many, many aliases]
So how about adding some context to Livephantom’s  “Meanwhile”
http://www.similarweb.com/  is a traffic tracking site and gosh, if I put in
http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com   I get
Global Ranking : #10,096
US Ranking : #5,196
Visitors in June ’15 : 2,700,000 (which is the lowest month they showed, goes back to Feb, if you register I think              you can see a full 2 yrs of history)
July had : 2,950,000
Now if I put in
http://www.elitedangerous.com  I get
Global Ranking : # 32,877
US Ranking : #17,742
Visitors in June : 1,250,000
July had : 990,000 (The lowest shown, the highest is March which had 1,650,000, In comparison RSI had 5,350,000 in March)

Now those figures do NOT include mobile traffic.

For anyone who doesn’t believe me, The site is linked go have a look for yourself.

Trolls and Stealth Trolls is what you are describing….. they can
attack SC all they want, but it annoys them that SC will not fail,
unlike their attacks.

The comments sections on SC articles are so much fun, I love how scared some people are of the game, and then others that are so worried about what some of us, including me spend my money on.
It is so cute that even though I have never met some of them they are so fearful that money I have chosen to spend may be going to waste, I just want to give them big cuddles!

How can you compare a game that’s still in development to a games that’s released?
That would be like trying to compare a finished house to a house that’s still under construction.
If you want to compare SC to other themes then either compare it to other games still in development, or wait until the game is released and then compare them.

I have yet to pull trigger on anything more expensive than a 300i. Even if I was willing to spare the dough, I don’t think I would get a Hornet. For one thing they said it will be easy to get in game. Second I don’t know if it want it. It seems a little OP at times. It will not be my first buy for sure.

I pity you, your replies here sound like you have a crappy loveless childhood and you sneer at anything that makes others happy.
Don’t worry, maybe your mom will take you to the doctor to and you can pick out some Pfizer pills to help you and your eye rolling issues.
