Age of Wulin’s Chapter 7 expansion hits later this month

Age of Wulin is getting a new expansion on August 25th, according to a Webzen press release. The new stuff is called Chapter 7: Awakening and it includes a level cap increase for combat and internal skills as well as the “coveted fifth internal skill,” the firm says.

Players will need to coordinate on various missions to save the city of Luoyang while “uncovering the truth” behind the city’s troubles. Two new zones — Jinling Incident and Qiadeng Crisis — will require players to “thwart the plans of the Emperor and other Great Xias.”

Age of Wulin is a free-to-play sandbox featuring open world PvP and skill-based advancement with more than 400 possible skills.

Zuleyus Coldrun_MN Get back to the forums, Zule. There’s an NPC that needs to be renamed.

Yes, the parkour in AoW is amazing. The double (and tripple) jump is just the tip of the iceberg; there are also ground and air dashes, sprints, running up or along walls, and running or hopping on water. The system is balanced by an endurance-type meter, so you don’t have infinite air time… But close enough. Only annoying parts are a couple of invisible walls and collision boxes on shrubbery that you least expect to stop you.

As much as I’m sad to admit it, but the translation has seen little improvement, at least on a ‘first impression’ basis. The quality of this game lies in its gameplay systems. For a tab-target game it has the best reaction and player-skill combat I’ve seen, the freedom of movement is just pure fun (once you acquire those movement skills, which can take time, effort and money), and the mostly time based character progression almost overwhelms with its range of options.
It’s really hard to do this game justice in a short summary. If you’re interested at all, you have to give it a try for yourself and not quit after the first few hurdles, language- or otherwise. AoW plays a LOT different than WoW and its clones.

Don’t know much about this game, I just remember from a trailer that the jump was best I saw in a mmo. Jump/double jump from roof to roof or something?

Tried the U.S. Version for a while during beta, loved it but never got into it post release… Seems like a good time to try it out again :-)

Has the game’s translation gotten any better?  Tried it when it released in the U.S. and it was really problematic.

“Two new zones — Jinling Incident and Qiadeng Crisis —”
These are new events in already existing zones. Additionally, it’s spelled “Qiandeng”.
