Destiny trailer teases Taken King, tomorrow’s Twitch reveal

It’s hard to believe that Destiny is almost a year old, but it is. Today Bungie released a teaser trailer for the Twitch reveal of its Taken King expansion which is subtitled Destiny Year Two. The 51-second clip hits all of the highlights including the new level cap and light, new quests, upgrades, and materials, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

The reveal will feature senior design lead Tyson Green and executive producer Mark Noseworthy. It happens Wednesday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m. EDT. Click past the cut for the trailer.

Have you never played a third person shooter? They work rather well.

Cyroselle Estranged Yeah, not sure how interested Bungie is in playing ball with MS currently.  Will be interesting.  They have been giving special preference to the PS4.

Estranged If I could play it on my computers, I might have some inkling of interest. Just an inkling, but hey, it’s in the negatives right now, so that would be an improvement! All I do now is randomly click on Destiny articles to see if there will ever be a ‘now gearing up for Windows 10’ announcement anywhere, since going forward the XBOne games market will apparently be shared with Windows 10 users.

Jello_CF Estranged Dystopiq Oh I understand.  I have played console games more, so it is easier for me to pick up a controller.  It is strange, I am a 120 wpm typist, but really struggle with PC games unless I tweak the UI.  Do much better with multi-button mice.

No harm, no foul.

Estranged Jello_CF Dystopiq PC players don’t wait around for Steam sales to play either you just have to look at the recent release of GTA 5 to prove that point.  However I do agree that console gamers are likely to spend more money per game than PC players at one point but anymore I pay full price just like console people do for new games plus the indie titles that I buy for $10+ here and there.

In response to “Funny part is you don’t think much of the game on console, but will be willing to play it on PC. ” Let me clarify what I was trying to get across as I can see now that it comes off as a ding on consoles in general.  I personally cannot play much of anything on consoles very well no matter how hard I try likely because of the fact that I can’t see as well as I used to coupled with just can’t get the controls down.

So if I can’t play the game well then I am not having fun.  Keep in mind I probably could get to a point where a PS3/4 controller would feel good enough however I spend the majority of my time growing up and even to this day using PC’s for work and gaming.  The last console that I played religiously was a SNES and while I do own a XBOX one and PS3 (my sons) all my motor skills from PC gaming do not translate into being a good console gamer.

So assuming there is a small percentage of people out there like me who seem to be to dumb to get a firm grasp on the controller side of gaming or lack of vision (no true HD gaming until lately) that is still a lot of profit to turn your head on.  Now I have my suspicion that this would be because of the lack of  easy portability from PS3/360 to PC and vice versa coupled with a publisher pushing to get the most bang for the buck.

So in short I don’t play consoles because apart from racing joints I cant get a good hang on it to have fun.  HOWEVER with the pS4/xbox one hardware being, simple generalization, a medium performance PC portability should be a lot easier both ways (see ARK and Rocket league)

No interest in this game at all…

1.3 million Twitch viewers in the channel before the stream goes live.

Jello_CF Dystopiq Contrary to what most think on this website, PCs are not the land of milk and honey.  Console players don’t wait around on a Steam sale to play.  They also tend to spend more money overall per game. Bungie has hired some PC employees, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on Windows at some point.

Funny part is you don’t think much of the game on console, but will be willing to play it on PC.
