Colonize the darkest reaches of space in 3001SQ

29

Outer space is so quiet and lacking in any useful facilities. It’s going to be your job to change that in 3001SQ, an upcoming space colonization simulator from Paris studio Société des Mondes Virtuels.

3001SQ will allow you to flit between planets and other galactic objects to mine, build structures, engage in a player economy, and even wage war. Players will have a programmable computer on their ship that can automate some tasks, even when the player is offline.

The team hopes that 3001SQ will suck you into its virtual universe: “Our vision for the game has a strong emphasis on immersion. Every item in the world will have a purpose, or relay actual game-world data. It will be played entirely from a first-person perspective, allowing you to move seamlessly inside of, and between, vessels and planetary surfaces.”

The sci-fi title will be buy-to-play and roll out in a staggered release. There is no current public time table for testing and launch.

rioinsignia Funny indeed! That was after the slew of games following SWG… Cycles? I say the more choices the better, and the more likely we end up with something we really want to play.

Thanks for the link, wasn’t aware of that one.

Kheran rioinsignia Lol.  I forgot about that pile of crap. Wasn’t that the one which a certain “troll” used as an example of why Star Citizen was “stifling the competition” or some rubbish like that?  lol.

bardamu1999 Totally agreed. I just lol’d hard at these guys back then and their doomed approach, failed Kickstarter and Indiegogo, so I keep an eye on them, just for lolz.

Last month they failed to pay for the webhosting and the website went down for a week. The guy apologized on their Facebook page saying he was on vacation, hah!

bardamu1999 Given the ratio of projects, big and small, attempting something similar and those that reached an “actual […] light of day” level of quality your scepticism is well justified.

We’ll see to develop a product that clears more doubts than meeting requirements to be included in your pile.

But as with pudding the proof remains in the eating for sure! ;)

One more for the pile.
I wonder if any of these friggin’ games will ever see the actual, honestly released, and not in an Early Access “it’s almost done!” BS kind of way.. At least there is E:D, if nothing else..

Programmable computer spaceships? I wonder if it will capture some of the old 0x10c crowd.

This looks just as promising as http://www.suddencrisis.com/ (anytime they don’t forget to pay for their webhosting).
