Path of Exile devs answer 187 player questions

Did you see that movie 187 starring Mace Windu? It was directed by the same guy who directed Rapa-Nui. Now that today’s film history lesson is over, I should point out that Path of Exile’s devs recently fielded 187 questions from the game’s player community. And they answered all of them, too!

As you might expect, the topics cover quite a bit of ground, from game industry employment opportunities to the possibility of upgrading from DX9 to Grinding Gear’s financial situation.

“We’re making enough to keep developing Path of Exile and to create more expansions over time,” GGG says. “Our team is currently at the largest size it has ever been. We’re actively hiring. We’d be able to work faster and to keep expanding with more funds, so please don’t stop buying those supporter packs!”

To clarify my loot statement (as I’ve been asked before)…
When you get to the higher levels, like 99% of the loot you get is crap.
About 99.999% of loot isn’t an upgrade for your character, lol.
Yes, I just made those number up. But, I hope you get my point.

D3 had their loot 2.0 which was a massive improvement.
PoE … working as intended  =P

I’ve enjoyed PoE a great deal since the 2.0 release. I think this is the most I’ve ever played the game. With the changes to melee, I’ve finally made a character that has pushed into the end game map content (woot!). As with any game, however, there are a few things that I wish GGG would change that would just… make the game even better, IMO.

For example…

Abysmal loot drops (if playing self found at higher levels)
Reliance on 3rd party for trading
RNG gating of upper level content – although this was slightly tweaked recently
etc

To summarize GGG’s thoughts on these subjects… “Game is working as intended.” … which is a bit disheartening to me, lol =P

Veldan – and /facepalm at choosing such name for future games that may very well potentially not be gear grinding games.

I bought the Vaal supporter pack today for $130 USD. I used some of the Store points you get for cosmetic armor and weapons but I will use the rest for storage.

BalsBigBrother well if you plan on doing any semi-serious crafting or trading you pretty much have to have the extra tabs.  if you are a pack rat (guilty as well) you need much more.  I’m at 19 I think and thats nothing special.

I’ve bought a few supporter packs and 2 issues of the comic.  I like the 1970s Heavy Metal storyline.

BalsBigBrother Cujo H Armsbend Story of my MMO life right there. If I find a FTP game that holds my interest for more than a few days then I need bank space.

Inventory OCD/Pack Rat Syndrome is a curse.

Cujo H Armsbend Most of my PoE purchases have been premium stash tabs.  Sometimes its really horrible to be a pack rat and have an organised inventory OCD in some of these games hehe

I wonder if “upgrading from DX9 to Grinding Gear’s financial situation” is better than upgrading from DX9 to DX12?
