Variety reports that British authorities have arrested six teenagers connected to Lizard Squad and suspected of playing a role in 2014’s Xbox Live and PlayStation Network attacks. The UK’s National Crime Agency tracked down six males ranging from 15 to 18 years of age who purchased DDoS-enabling software using bitcoins in an attempt to remain anonymous.

The NCA said that the individuals launched DDoS attacks against gaming companies, e-retailers, a national British newspaper, and a school. While the organization did not identify the affected companies, Variety cites unnamed sources linking the group to the Sony and Microsoft attacks.

Tandor Shadewalker I think you overestimate the average person’s ability to understand ethics and empathy (IE little to none). That said, i had to live with someone with autism growing up, and it was a living hell for me. People no longer believe in right or wrong, only how it affects themselves. Even when its others close to them, its based on their own feelings and difficulties, and not those of their friends and families. Its not like this is anything new, but its prevalence on all levels of society is staggering beyond belief.

Project54 Tandor Shadewalker My apologies, no offence was intended. I fully recognise that the condition exists, and have never considered it automatically a negative thing. I do think it has relevance in these cases only as a mitigating factor in any sentencing on conviction, not on any decision over whether to prosecute or find a person innocent or guilty. Those matters are best decided on the evidence. Again, my apologies if offence was caused where none was intended.

And even then that ‘prank’ on grandma would still be illegal.

I still fail to see how advocating execution for people who get a kick out of making other peoples lives a misery is ‘extreme’.

I have Aspergers’s and I’m rather offended by your post and the undertones I perceive from it. You can’t ‘claim’ to have Asperger’s – there is a diagnostic criteria. Is that you think it doesn’t exist and it’s just something people claim? Or that people with Asperger’s shouldn’t be allowed on the internet? Also note I said ‘have’ not ‘suffer from’ – Asperger’s just makes a person different and don’t appreciate the inference it’s automatically a negative thing.

Silverbourne Bluetouchpaper Dystopiq Better than prison for 15 or 16 year olds because the way things are going in the UK it will be either that or a boot camp style system. In actual fact there has been recent talk of setting up boot camps for long term unemployed youths and not just the ones that have broken the law .I doubt that will happen because it is unfair to punish teenagers for not being able to find a job but there is huge support among the electorate ofr a more punitive system when it comes to youth justice .The current situation where people in their mid teens can break laws with virtual impunity will soon be over at least in the UK .

In actual fact there has been recent talk of setting up boot camps for long term unemployed youths and not just the ones that have broken the law but that would end up being something like national service for the poor which picks on a section of society through ignorance so I doubt that will happen because people wont support it but there is significant support among the electorate for a type of national service that would impact everyone over the age of 18 ( not just those unable to find work)  or a borstal style system for young offenders . It will happen and when it does I hope its the lessons of the past will be learned .

Robert80 annoyedbadger Not entirely sure what you’re referring to, but I suspect you’re confused between civil law and criminal law in the UK.

Back in my working days, long before 2012, I actually had police assistance in getting several squatters removed from a house I was involved with. They literally carried the squatters out and dumped them on the pavement outside. No court application or order, no writ, just a good old-school sergeant who wasn’t prepared to take any nonsense!

There’s something oddly kinky the way you said that. So I don’t think BDSM is viable form of punishment either. o.O
