Destiny offers up The Taken King’s gameplay trailer

By this point most Destiny fans have a pretty good idea of the foundation beneath The Taken King‘s story. In short, you killed someone, and now his father is really angry that you did so and is coming by for some disproportionate retribution. That’s all well and good, but in a game about blowing up space aliens with space guns in space, you want to see said guns, aliens, blow-ups, and space.

The newest trailer for the expansion is eager to oblige. It contains plenty of explosions, plenty of scenes of player characters causing said explosions, and absolutely no heartfelt examinations of love and loss over tea. So jump on down below and watch it, if you’re into that sort of thing.

I caved and just bought the base game. I’ma refund it on Saturday and get The Taken King when it comes out. I’m having fun but I hope my time wouldn’t be better invested in Eso or something else on Xb1.

on top of which why is it another “Hive” expansion instead of the Vex or the Cabal … I would much rather see something with them than more Hive missions.

can someone explain to me why it is the “Taken” king instead of the “Hive” king? the latter is more applicable and sounds cooler.

My pros and cons for Destiny:

Pros: Solid shooter mechanics for controller; online Co-op is fun with friends

Cons: Essentially no story to speak of; Doesn’t really excel in any area; PvP is below average; solo experience is beyond repetitive; Co-op experience better in games like Borderlands & Left 4 Dead games; Game in general gets grindy and repetitive; takes the worst “MMO” features without the positives that usually come with said features

Summary: Generic as it gets FPS; PC gamers aren’t missing much here

Destiny was a blast…for about two weeks.  Still can’t believe I bought the $80 digital version for the PS4 with nothing to trade in now.
