Trove’s Lunar Lancer melds fox with spear fighter

How does the fox fight? Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!

Trove is more than happy to weirdly adopt old memes for its newest class, the Lunar Lancer. This upcoming fighter wields a giant spear and can transform into a “lunatic” fox when its lunar power (sure, why not) is full. Possibly the class’ coolest ability is how it can use its spear as an explosive grappling hook on terrain and enemies.

The Lunar Lancer is coming to the game on September 15th. Trove recently added tamable ancient dragons that players can raise to be pets and mounts.

Madda Damonvile CristianoDiaz Dystopiq Given this is Trion, the same company who’s big hyped ‘Nightmare Saga’ has you literally chasing down flaming feces, and who keep pushing Promotional Events designed to browbeat players info buying gambling-addict crates…how bad is the money-grubbing in Trove?

ProfessionalNoob DahkohtLewin  Runecrafting makes getting the block recipes so ridiculously easy I’m not sure why they bothered making them available elsewhere. Leveling runecrafting/ making the recipes is definitely a resource sink though, getting the necessary radiant shards and scrolls isn’t challenging but can take a good long while solo – especially if you have to make your own sky realm portal.

And to expand on club worlds – you start off with a little island and can add to it with biome chunks, but this too is a resource sink and it can take a while to get a decent sized world solo.

DahkohtLewin The only downside is it is tough to get recipes for the rarer types of blocks, glowing and metallic and such. As far as I can tell you have to get the runecrafting skill in order to make recipes otherwise you will not likely find them. Occasionally I have found a block recipe in a trove chest but its not often.

Otherwise its fun enough and you get a whole club zone to build in.

Damonvile CristianoDiaz Dystopiq It’s a sandbox / dungeon crawler grind. Basically, you choose a class, do dungeons around the world, gear up and level, then continued on. You continue getting levels to get your account level up, which you do by leveling up things, completing daily quests etc.

Madda can safely that after dungeons and classes are done (which is a lot more tedious than it looks), there’s really nothing else to trove besides gathering materials and building. It’s like Cube World, but that would be insult since at least Cube World had planned out more things to do than to run around trying to find dungeons in your grindy quest.

MorpayneRADIO Not everyone likes action combat for various reasons including aging reflexes and other such physical difficulties. Even without that being an issue, it’s perfectly valid to dislike the feel of action combat in general.

Why would action combat make you cringe? Wouldn’t you rather have your performance be measured more by your skill than by dice rolls?

TomTurtle DahkohtLewin I am ok with action based and tab target also. EQL’s was horrific to me due to the UI for it , literally looked like something I would expect in a starfighter , huge reticles on each side in the middle of the screen etc.
