Jagex has announced that RuneScape’s cash shop is now cash optional. As of today, RuneScape bonds may be used in lieu of meatspace money to purchase t-shirts. A Jagex press release says that more clothing items including caps and hoodies are in the works.
Bonds may be purchased from Jagex or acquired via bartering with other players, and may also be used for RuneScape membership fees, donated to partner charities, or used to purchase RuneFest tickets. Jagex says that more 350,000 bonds are transacted every month.
