How successful was Destiny’s September 2014 launch? Pretty successful, by most measuring sticks. Bungie moved 6.3 million copies of its sci-fantasy shooter in the first month, according to IGN, which cites published court documents from Bungie’s recent legal dust-up with former composer Martin O’Donnell.

Activision previously announced more than $500 million in worldwide day one Destiny sales.

I had this super long write up planned.. but suffice to say I played at launch and stopped shortly after Vault of Glass dropped. I recently purchased House of Wolves and I can honestly say I’m hooked as hard as I’ve ever been with any MMO. Which roughly translates into “I dump 5-8 hours daily into it”.

The game has been vastly improved and I’ve been having a blast. I’ve gone through each of the raids, and really enjoyed both, even if they’re a bit light on mechanics compared to what I’m used too for Hard Mode content. I’m super excited for The Taken King, and the game finally feels like it’s heading in the right direction.

Greaterdivinity Still more boxes than most MMOs have sold in a few years of existing.

xPhenomen McSleaz You could, but then you’d have to deal with the dirty feeling of putting someone else in the situation you were just in that you wanted to get out of.

Nunky lmao………………………………. I can’t express how pathetic that is in words, so all I can do is just laugh.  Very different than throwing money at the screen I might add.

Nunky This combined with the red bull “destiny players are easily swayed to paying a premium for little” comments convinced me to drop the game and sell it for Heavensward. I’ve seen some disgusting “you are all fucking idiots and will buy anything we throw at you” behaviour from devs but this was probably the worst i can think of from a dev in gen 6.

carson63000 GabeNewellFetish nowadays when parts get cut out and hid behind dlc walls but left on disc? yeah $100 is the norm for a console fps. sadly.

I’ve not read the comments below this one but I bet most are seething at success and questioning the validity of that success in some form or another .
