Skyforge previews its next major update, Aelion’s Call

Just calling to check in on you and all.

It hasn’t been all that long since the first major update to Skyforge, but the developers are pushing full steam ahead on the game’s second major update. The next patch will arrive on September 16th with a host of balance and mechanical changes along with a new raid and two new game systems for players to explore.

Players who haven’t been playing the game as long as others will benefit from a new catch-up system that accelerates progress based on the gap between a character’s current capabilities and the maximum attainable abilities. Operations are being added to give players more ways to take part in Invasion content with up to 40 players, with players earning signs of the invading faction to unlock special nodes in the Ascension Atlas. Last but not least, the new 10-person raid sees players taking on the crashed remnants of a mechanoid invasion. It’s plenty of stuff to do, and players will be able to experience it in just about a week.

Best Catch-Up System Idea: REMOVE THE CAPS.

Mitzruti I know this patch some changes to anomilies and some changes for how rewards are done. But I am not sure if that will mean getting more ways to get sparks of revelation quite yet. I know that the Russian players are complaining a lot about this very same thing and the devs have mentioned on their site that they do plan to make some changes.

So hold tight. Even if this patch doesn’t see this kind of change, it should happen eventually.

As you get further on more types of game play become available. Invasions, Operations, Raids, HTs (Anomalies) and such. So it gets a bit better. But it is very heavily leaning toward some manner of instanced small group play. So if you don’t prefer that sort of thing it is probably never going to work for you. But if you do like dungeon running in most games you play then this can be a pretty good choices if the combat style also suits you. I enjoy the combat, especially in group so it works well for me.

KenAddeh tobascodagama It will do two things.
First, it will allow those who have started the game late or take a really long break to earn a part of the cap they are now missing. So it will allow you to have more cap in a given week and as you get closer to those who started right at the beginning it will shrink until you are right within a week of the leaders.

Second, it should also allow for spark replicators to scale based on how much cap you have available. This means if you have a lot save from taking a few weeks off you will be able to burn though that cap faster come back in line with perhaps your friends.

Catch up mechanic? Haven’t this game only been out for a few months?

KenAddeh dantetifosi I think the main reason why it feels repetitive is that the instances are very short.  Squad adventures can be done in 10-15mins and even the 10 man raid can be completed in 25 mins.  Most other games your used to take 30 mins to hour to complete a single dungeon.

Bannex19 Given that Russia is only about 0.5% non-“white”… I mean…

so… no hints about anything that might make getting white/pink whatever-they’re-called sparks less garbagetastic?

KenAddeh Bannex19 Yeah, it’s so hard to make a black guy (which is what I am) in the game. I can make him heavily tanned…

Wratts It’s all stuff that already exists in the original Russian version, and they’re localizing months and months worth of RU content into big monthly NA updates. Eventually, NA will catch up to RU and the pace will slow to match RU’s progress.
