Good boy! Good boy! Who's a good boy?!

RIFT has done pretty well for itself with four specific callings since launch, and that means that the Primalist has a lot to live up to. It has to feel like it’s something very different right from the start, something that couldn’t just as easily be turned into a soul for one of the other callings. A preview of the new calling emphasizes that it comes down, in part, to the dual-resource system of the Primalist, with Fury and Cunning both altering the performance of the Primalist’s abilities in combat depending on playstyle.

Primalists will wear leather armor and use two-handed weapons, although the preview clarifies that these weapons are frequently more like foci than the emphasis of their gameplay. Six souls are also coming with the calling, with one focused on tanking (Titan), one focused on healing (Preserver), and the others focused on varying forms of dealing damage (Vulcanist, Berserker, Dervish, Typhoon). Take a look at the full preview for more details on how the Primalist holds its own.
