Harris goes on to say that he expects e-sports to become more popular on consoles, though one might expect him to say as much given SMITE’s recent appearance on Microsoft’s XBox One. “The console providers, both of them, are much more flexible now about allowing a developer to give ongoing updates,” he explains.

DahkohtLewin I think it’s hilariously awesome. I love watching the esports channel whenever I visit the RoK, and I looooove it when they go over the top with the intros and bios for their players.
DahkohtLewin that isn’t marketed at you the adult. It’s marketed at younger people who still think ” bad ass” is cool. I run into this all the time when I listen to my nephews talk about things. They call some “kid” so cool and awesome and I see some dumb kid in a ridiculous costume trying way too hard.Â
It would, probably be kind of sad if an adult found them cool or bad ass. :)
DahkohtLewin WOAH – are they hardcore motorcross racers in a gang?
Either way I am crossing to the opposite side of the street at this instant!
Good heavens the Olympics was so much better before NBC started their human interest stories. Â They hardly show the Olympics at all if it isnt something America regularly watches.
So wrong on every level this guy.
I don’t have a problem with the e-sports overall , even thought I will never watch one for more than a minute or two for amusement sake. Not my thing. What I think makes it fall into eye rolling and comedic value at times is the imagery they push it with.
The “teams” are usually posed with super serious looks on their faces , enough gel in the hair to make it a fire risk to be int he same room , and matching shiny jackets that remind me of my evel knievel jackets I wore as a child in the 70’s
Quit trying to make us believe the teams are “tough” or bad-ass in any way.
You’re about to sit down click a mouse and press some keys.
It comes off with the giggle factor when it’s promoted as it is.
I couldn’t disagree more. Most shows on TV focus on people’s story moreso than what the actual event is about. I do not care about someone’s tragic/amazing/made up stories. It’s like watching The Voice. I don’t care that your dad died…just shut up and SING!
People are watching the console Esports because your PC esports scene is a joke!!! Every single fucking PC SPL has multiple dc’s and great teams forfiting because of DDOS attacks.
DPandaren Yeah the TI5 revived my interest in DotA 2… only for it to be shot down when I tried to play DotA 2 and it couldn’t run on my backup computer (RIP gaming PC). Â Oh well.
LiquidUÂ SkyyDragonn There’s always got to be at least one of those folks in any comment section covering HiRez though.
Plus if you try to argue about Tribes now by stating that they’re going back to it, they’ll just go “oh well they already screwed it up too much” or “they’ll quickly abandon it again if it doesn’t get enough people re-checking it out!” or “there’s a reason why they’re going back, and that’s just to get on our good graces to trick us into supporting them further!”
Styopa And poker somehow. I imagine watching Hearthstone would be way more fun than watching Poker.
