ARK video spotlights the headbutting Pachycephalosaurus

The newest bundle of dino joy has arrived in ARK: Survival Evolved, and it sure packs a whollup! Before you say, But I already have all the dinosaurs I need, listen to this: The headbutting Pachycephalosaurus can ram into any enemies, knocking them them off their feet. Thanks to its bone-plated skull, this mild-looking herbivore mount can even break through structures. Get a gander at these unique abilities in the video below. If you still don’t want to add another dino to your personal pack, you might enjoy the other new additions to the game, including rafts and the much-anticipated buildable platforms on Brontos.

Available on Steam via Early Access, ARK is slated to release June 2016 on that platform as well as on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with Project Morpheus support. The game includes Oculus Rift VR support and is ever-expanding, partially due to a myriad of player-hosted servers and mods.

Pachycephalosaurus- w00t! I had a second grade teacher who always let us choose 2 words for our spelling tests that we would learn for ourselves, on each test. I almost always chose dinosaur names, and always got them right. Pachycephalosaurus was probably one of the hardest ones. That teacher probably thought I was crazy, but i can still spell that dinosaur’s name right over 20 years later.

Oh, yeah. ARK update. That’s cool too!

this is on my list of stuff to do… hope I can find the time.
it would unquestionably be in my library if I got a PS4 and Morpheus.

agemyth Performance seems to be all over the map at this point.  Some people with :high end” gaming rigs say they can barely play and yet my 4 year old non-gaming machine does just fine (I’m nowhere near epic video settings, but it is perfectly playable with textures on medium and low shadows).
I guess we will see what happens when they get to the optimization phase of development.

Damonvile Since they have kept adding new things and there is more to come, maybe you can return after a break and it will be (mostly) fresh again.

The game barely runs on mildly populated servers with a normal amount of player built structures on a good PC. June 2016 for three platforms and two different types of VR? That is certainly ambitious. :P Also, I feel like ARK would be a puke-fest with all the dino stomping, dino riding, dino flying, and the normal player move speed. Some of that can be tweaked of course.

I put in lots of time but pokemon collecting and harvesting half a mountain to build a section of wall eventually burnt me out i guess.
