WildStar’s official F2P transition checklist

Play ALL the people.

WildStar is going to be free-to-play in less than a week now. If you’ve already been playing the game, your path to get ready is pretty short – you just log in and start playing. But if you’ve never touched the game before and really want to be in there on the 29th, you would do well to peruse the checklist offered on the official site that explains exactly what players will need to do to be ready as soon as the free-to-play switch is set to “on.”

While the most basic elements are hardly surprising – have an account and have the client downloaded – the checklist also goes into detail on areas you may not have considered, like add-ons and account security. Check out the full rundown and make sure you’re ready to launch when the business model shift happens.

Looking forward to this as I am feeling kind of stale in Rift at the moment and I’m hoping there may be some world pvp in this game as well as instanced . Its so hard to find a game that offers a balance of decent pve and world pvp these days .

I’m actually going to be kind of sad. Mostly because I pretty much know all the people who sit around the capitols at this point, and I will probably wont see them around there with the influx of players.

Madda ColdinT Expecting a HUGE turnout in week 1 from people who were curious before, but 3-4 months from now I think it will be pretty niche, moreso than Rift for example….

No where near SWTOR, ESO, TERA levels

I do recommend trying it if you haven’t yet, the housing and crafting are both rather good if I remember correctly. I was lucky enough to get into the beta for free but I only played it for a few weeks. I’m afraid that the tag WOW in space is fairly accurate and the game just didn’t hold my interest. Still for what it is I think it was well done.

ColdinT Basically, this is Carbine’s Judgement Day.

If WildStar can’t comeback from the pit it’s dug itself in, then woe unto them.

ManastuUtakata Greaterdivinity Darthbawl An added “convenience”. I saw what you did there. :)

Gibbins A Dad Supreme Rude? I offered you a free TERA account. How much more congenial can I be?
I actually bought WildStar so there would be items already included so not giving you that, lol. But if you steal it…

Seeing a lot more of the nay-sayers coming back to the comments now. I think if anything, that just says Wildstar is getting a bit more attention. :)

Correction I just now get a response from Carbine, sorry there was error with your purchase (Digital River F’ed up I imagine) so they cancelled the order and asked me to try again, as if I would bother I do not appreciate being burned financially; I have spent money on numerous MMO companies through online transactions Blizzard, Turbine, Trion, Funcom, Sony and they all went smoothly as a what’s expected from a company that isn’t run out of backwoods Africa.

Now I have to wait for the money to show up on my bank account, if it doesn’t I’ll be contacting the attorney generals office of my state to have them light a fire under their back sides ( unlike Derek Smart, I actually follow through; with extreme prejudice).
