Mission changes coming with Guild Wars 2’s expansion

13

The Heart of Thorns expansion is changing guild missions in Guild Wars 2. How so? That’s what today’s website update is designed to answer. New guild mission types for WvW and PvP will be added to the existing PvE types, as ArenaNet seeks to diversify the ways that guild halls may be leveled up.

There’s also a mission preference option that will allow guild leaders to select what sorts of activities they prefer. It’s worth noting, however, that abstaining from selecting a PvE, PvP, or WvW preference and instead opting to receive all three types will also net your guild a 10 percent favor bonus.

Today’s update also covers the new guild mission panel, instanced missions, personal rewards, and more.

Overall good but im disappointed to see the exp boost for opting in to all mission types. Just seems more and more the shift from “play how you want” to “play how we want you to”

Just as dailies can be done through the Edge of the Mists map, it may be that so too can the Guild Missions.  And since those are infinite instances that also reset after so many hours, it will work out perfectly for those weekly missions.

se7engames You can be in multiple guilds, but you’ll only earn influence points for the one you’re currentlyrepresenting.

So how does guild exp work if your a member of three different guilds?

Then just do not do them.  You don’t have to do EVERY Guild Mission available.  They’re not required.  And honestly, if you don’t like that particular content, nobody is forcing you -or your guild- to partake in it.
The complaint about this are like those that were daily Halloween events last year and the year prior about requiring some of the PvP mini-games.  Or during Dragon Bash in 2013 about requiring Dragon Ball.  Nobody is forcing you to do that content.
Please do not belittle it or try to start some uproar to force a change on content that other players may enjoy just because it is something that you do not enjoy.

I’m pretty excited about the mission changes, among other things the WvW missions might alleviate some of the typical MMO capture and leave behavior. Conflicts tend to be much more worthwhile when the sides are fighting for something.

Yes. I quite enjoy it. I have my main guild. But I am also in one of the big TT / Teq guilds. And have several for storage. It’s really neat I find.

rottenrotny Yes and that will never be gotten rid of. It’s pretty great being in multiple guilds.
