Tune in live at 7:00 p.m. to see just how much trouble she can get herself into.

Who: MJ Guthrie
When: 7:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015

I leveled lancer to I think to 32 to get that cross skill. I know other people enjoy that class but it just isn’t for me

MetaDune Cambruin stick with lancer and unlock Dragoon… gets MUCH better at that point. Lancer is a farily dry class, once you get Jump is when it picks up and you really *FEEL* like the dragoon from FF games past.

Cambruin Same here. I played for around 60 days before quitting, just couldn’t stick with it. I even had someone on a forum do the recruit-a-friend thing for me, and get me into a very large, very well-respected guild.
All I can really say is that there are just some aspects of the game that didn’t sit well with me for one reason or another. I would never bash the game because it’s apparent that there are lots of good things about it, but it’s just not for everyone.
Glad to see that it’s doing so well though, at least so that the anti-subscription crowd will be a little quieter.

Yea I think that’s the thing with FF14, you can tell that the world is feature rich and the devs put a lot of time and love in it but it just doesn’t click.
I almost quit when I hit 15 with the lancer because I simply wasn’t haven’t had any fun and was bored but as mentioned before, once I switched to arcanist that all changed and I enjoyed the game

Bannex19 game gets better while you reach max lvl. Story between 50 throught patches to 60 is awesome!

Bannex19 It didn’t click with me at 1st either and I let it go during the free month, but after a couple of weeks I decided to buy 1 more month and I focused solely on combat classes, instead of the crafting rabbit-hole I’d fallen into, and once I got to level 30-ish, everything fell into place for me and now I simply love the game.  But it definitely took a bit of doing before it finally clicked.
Even with that, I will still always advocate that if you’re not having fun from the get-go, don’t “push through” becuz someone says it gets better later.  For me it worked becuz I as initially focusing on crafting and got bored, where when I focused on adventuring and combat I was fine, but for most games I don’t think it would have helped.  FFXIV just got lucky with me, I guess.  Or vice versa.  Whatever.

Cambruin What killed me was the lancer class, once I switched over to arcanist (which later becomes summoner or scholar) I loved the game sincr

I have the exact same lamentations.
On paper it looks great, every time I play it I just slowly lose interest and I really can’t give you a good reason other than feel, cadence and looks :(

Why can I not like this game better? I have bought another 60 days and it just doesn’t click with me. The absence of voice acting, the armour and weapon design, the quest flow, …
I read nothing but good things about this game, I just wish I could get to experience it.
