Player explorer returns from 10-month mission in Elite Dangerous

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Pioneer. Its 10-month mission: to explore strange new systems, to seek out new contracts and new paydays, to boldly go where no player has gone before!

One player in Elite Dangerous has surely set some sort of record for longest and most profitable run among the stars. Commander Kommodore set out in his Eagle-class ship to travel to the core of the galaxy. It took him 10 months to make the round trip, during which he did not dock at any safe port. Now he’s back after visiting nearly 3,900 systems and has raked in 123 million credits for his efforts.

Now the question is, will anyone ever beat that record?

progshine My system is slightly older and is probably halfway between the recommended and minimum hardware and it handles it all pretty well on high quality settings.

Defector1980 Kataq LordOfBread Ugh, this guy is the Manzes of E:D? You have my sympathies, sir. I was thinking about getting into Elite with the new expansion. Looks like it’s finally getting to a point that I might be satisfied with it. The only reason I’ve stuck with the development of Star Citizen is because I was getting a single player campaign, and Elite doesn’t have that to draw me in. It’s really starting to look like they’re getting it together though. SC gets shit for not coming out of alpha fast enough. E:D gets shit for coming out too soon. o/ What are ya going to do?

LordOfBread I’m going to take the time to debunk LoBs troll post, on the off-chance that someone accidentally believes his nonsense.

The game does not randomly generate systems as LoB says. The entire galaxy is generated once, by something FD call the Stellar Forge. The Stellar Forge has a bunch of scientific information as well as known data about real systems available to it, and once run generates a close approximation of the type of systems that we think exist. These systems are available for anyone to fly to, and every system will have exactly the same content no matter who visits it or when they visit it.

I hope this explains something about the wonderful galaxy that FD has created, as well as demonstrating what an ill-informed troll LoB is.

Kataq LordOfBread I thought maybe he had been banned. Why hasn’t he been banned. They ban Manzes, and Bread is as much a troll.

LordOfBread I haven’t seen you troll the last two ED articles. I was getting a little worried that you were ill or something. Glad to see you back and in full troll/rage mode :)

SirMysk Needs (More) Coffee, Probably Damonvile Kataq I have no idea what NASA are doing, sounds cool, but I meant that FD will add the ability to land on earth like worlds in hopefully a few years. In December we’ll be able to land on planets with no atmosphere.
Thanks for the links though, that some really interesting stuff I had no idea about.

LordOfBread As usually your unreasonable hatred for what others enjoy blinds you to the significance of this as well shows your complete ignorance when it comes to this game. Please stop.
