Betawatch: Camelot Unchained begins beta next year (October 9, 2015)

The good news is that Camelot Unchained will indeed be hitting the shores of the land of betas. The bad news? It’s not going to be until next year, presumably before the end of the winter. Hopefully you weren’t planning to do that, like, this weekend.

Other beta news that arrived at our doorstep coated in slime and precious stones:

Oh, and there is a long list of titles just past the break, some of which you might not be aware of. Did something swap testing states without our noticing? Let us know in the comments!

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions.

VilleUusitalo This is why we will never see an old school game approach like EQ or an mmorpg based entirely upon old school RPG concepts in f2p. It would be like setting up a D&D game at home for friends … and putting up fliers all over your city for anyone else to join too. It creates a clusterf#ck that nobody can manage and trying to please everyone ends up pleasing no one.

onliner A damn fine weekly treat each and every week! Very fun seeing it move into the more visually exciting stuff. Can’t wait for beta.

Armsbend It is earlier than I had anticipated.  I guess they are chugging along nicely.  Good times.

Blade&Soul f2p is going to be awful… Simple reason is -> f2p.

a) NcSoft has terrible history with f2p. In Lineage 2 cash shop they have 100k usd epic earring for example.
b) f2p will make it possible for China-bot-farmers to invade the server and make it impossible to play. For example in Taiwan BnS 90% of characters logged/farming are bots :/

Greaterdivinity Pashgan You know, just in case it sucks. Oh wait… it kinda does. :(

Pashgan It’s launched. The game is fully monetized, open to all, and seeing post-launch quality content updates. It’s just hiding behind the beta tag.

Sword coast legends is having it’s head start 4 this weekend.

well just went back to daoc after 9 years waiting on cu, guess I can get stuff done there this next year lol

Winter is coming….
