Star Trek Online outlines plans for Season 11 content

In the mirror universe, they have charities to encourage bullying, or something.
It’s going to be hard to top the challenges faced by players in Star Trek Online at the end of the Iconian War storyline. What opponent could pose a threat to a galaxy that defeated the Iconians? Well, perhaps an entire other universe with a sinister bent. Yes, the Mirror Universe is coming back in Season 11, complete with Chase Masterson reprising her role as Mirror Leeta and a reworking of the Cardassian story arc at the lower levels.

Players will also be encountering a new species and dealing with the fallout of the Iconian War while also re-exploring largely ignored portions of the Alpha Quadrant. That’s in addition to the new Admirality system allowing players to send out owned ships for exploration and rewards. So where do you go after defeating the greatest threat the galaxy has ever faced? Right back into the final frontier.

With you on the ships. Looks like they are finally giving the Roms a T6 science ship. And it’s looks unimpressive. I spent a long tim building up dilution to get it. And now I barely care.

While I’d like to see them continue putting out content, I’d rather they took a moment and worked on fixing issues with the game.  For instance, the constant client crashes I’ve gotten playing the game on Windows 8 and 10.  I hardly play the game anymore, since having Task Manager open in the background to kill a frozen client seems to be a prerequisite requirement for the game.

Still hoping they remember they made Champions Online … and it’s still running … with actual players in it.

Yeah, as a Trek fan, I enjoyed the five-year story arc we’ve had since launch — and how that arc ended — but I’m also really looking forward to some post-war gameplay, where the story focus is said to be more on exploration.
There will always be some form of combat in Star Trek Online stories, partly because it’s an MMORPG, and transmitting subtler forms of conflict through the medium in ways that everyone “gets” is very hard to do, but I’m looking forward to the ramp-up to a generally post-war Star Trek Online as well.
Cheers,

Al “Captain Geko” Rivera and PWE have completely ruined this game. If you are into purchasing tons of Fed ships at $30 a pop and then having those same ships given some power creep and sold back to you again later though, it’s great! If you’re a Rom or Klink you’re SOL in STO. What I wouldn’t give for a proper Star Trek MMO. Something like SC, Elite, or hell even EVE but with a Trek feel would be so so much better than STO. The IP is perfect for sandbox play, not garbage battlegrounds and reputation systems. STO does such an injustice to the IP it’s a shame.
