Age of Conan kicks off a new Halloween event and a new raid

This is... oh, you know the song, never mind.

The spookiest of all possible holidays is almost here, and Age of Conan is getting in on the action with an all-new Halloween event. It’s not all fun and games, either; the city of Tarantia is besieged by a plague turning its residents into shambling monstrosities, and players will have to explore beneath the city to root out the cause. The rewards? Experience-boosting candy and new social outfits. So it’s somewhat fun and games, then.

Not a fan? Well, the old Halloween events are also available, or you could go with the brand-new raid, the Palace of Cetriss. Members can take on the raid for free; it requires 24 people to challenge and awards victorious players Tier 6 armor and weapons. So whether you want to enjoy some low-key holiday fun or take on a brand-new raid, the game’s got new stuff for you to enjoy.

“Joel Bylos teased they might be able to do an Age of Conan spin-off if the Park goes well…”
just bought The Park, thanks man. I want an AOC expansion or spin-off so bad! AOC was my best MMO experience ever.

Has Funcom ever fixed the issues with multi-core CPUs and 64-bit systems in Age of Conan? Last time I played players with single-core CPUs and 32-bit systems were getting better FPS than players with multi-core CPUs and 64-bit systems.

This is a game I always mean to jump back into, but just never have the time. Also it bugs me that I cannot access the expansion areas I already purchased without subbing.

Koshelkin Most MMOs seem to fall into that pitfall.  More than others.  WoW is probably one of the few exceptions.  FFXI maybe as well since its graphics at least have aged pretty well.

Ironwu ehh the first 20 levels really get the feeling… but after that the world feels a bit lifeless.  Going from fully voiced quests with dialoge trees to…. welll nothing really takes you out of it.

Played AoC quite a bit, but eventually gave up on it.  As a fan of Howard’s works on Conan, I just did not get the feeling that I was in the ‘real’ Hyboria at all.
This doesn’t help.

Looking forward to both the raid and the new Halloween event, as well as the old Halloween events. :)

Let’s hope this happens because AoC is so yesterday… splendid game but aged and not like wine.
