Skyforge invites players to the Evil Pumpkin Festival

Dark and goofy times are upon the population of Skyforge, as the season of the Evil Pumpkin Festival is now live.

The Halloween celebration, which lasts until November 4th, introduces new challenges for players to tackle in exchange for sweet, sweet candy. But wait, you can’t taste video game candy, can you? No, my child, you can’t, but you can turn the candy in to vendors and receive spooky costume pieces in exchange.

The event also includes a new quest chain, daily quests, and a “candle versus candle game.” Your guess on the last one is as good as ours.

Mendoras Syco_at_Twitch GameTaco  I suppose it is. The Argents alone are worth $25 out of the $40, and then you have to factor in another 10000 Argents for the value of the premium time and 5000 Argents for the 2000 Victor’s Medals. The stones and cores have a reasonably high value in credits on top of that. I’d say yeah, you’re getting your money’s worth.
The way I see it, this is just that time of the year anyway. By the time my 30 days of premium runs out if I buy it now, there’s probably going to be a Black Friday sale of some sort (if not just another “sale” that is actually just an outrageously priced new costume), then the month after that will probably feature a holiday event and a new sale or pack of some sort.

Mendoras I was thinking that’s a good deal, too, considering most other MMOs out there charge through the roof for starter and expansion packs.

I am still confused as to how I cannot (continue to) like a game where I get to run around with a big gun and kill things with fire and missiles. *sigh*

Costumes are actually very cool: skeleton is 3D model encapsulated in black human figure instead of painted over ninja suit, ghost costume make toons float and all 3 costumes has unique dances and running animations (female ghost dance look close to Mia Walles’ dance in Pulp Fiction). Plus they drop often.

Syco_at_Twitch GameTaco I hope they do a 180 with their marketing and succeed. Doubt it though.

And perhaps most importantly, this event features the addition of a new collector’s pack.
$30.99 USD (or $39.99 for the complete pack) gets you early access to Witch if you don’t have it already and a collector’s weapon + purple quality offhand for it. The weapon, from what I saw on Reddit, boosts Taint by 34%, adds an extra hundred points of damage to Living Helper and your Explosion, and of course has a unique look.
Other than that, you can get 25000 Argents, 2000 Victor’s Medals, up to 12000 Replcator Sparks, 1000 Tier 1 Enchantment Stones (why?), 3500 Ether Cores, 15 Surprise Pumpkins, 30 days of Premium time (only 30?), and two (recolored?) Halloween costumes.

Curiously, Necromancer is left out of the festivities almost entirely with the exception of your first mission where you can use it in a promo mission or training room if you want. It’s probably because it’s in the “inner” part of the Ascension Atlas and thus is really easy to reach, but my joke theory is that they just gave up on Necro :P
