Camelot Unchained reveals its Shapeshifter classes

I think I found my preferred class in Camelot Unchained. It’s called the Black Rider, and “while their attacks may not be as physically powerful as those of their opposing realms’ counterparts, their ability to spread fear and use their severed heads and spinal cords as weapons makes them quite the challenging foe,” CityState says in its latest class reveal.

Use their severed heads and spinal cords as weapons. Yep!

This afternoon’s reveal also features the Child of Loki and the Enchanted Knight. What do all three of these classes have in common? They’re Shapeshifters, and you can read all about them via the link below.

The classes on this game look realy realy interesting, too bad they decided to go down the subscription road. Buy to play would have been way better.

Ok, I did not see that one coming. It is so out of left field for me that I have trouble wrapping my head around the classes. Classes like these are the reason I am happy not being a developer. I love the concepts but executing this properly is gonna be harder than the run of the mill class.

I have so many questions about how visually shape shifting is gonna work that my head hurts. Like are the transformations unique? If I see 3 black knights on the battlefield and all of them are griffins, will I be able to tell them apart? Is it the gear that will make them unique once transformed or are the classes gonna have cosmetic options at character creation like your normal form?

See!! headaches lol

SpykeDruid Agreed. I’m really glad they added a package like this as an option, for all of us diehard <insert faction of choice here> fans out there. Looking forward to eventually flaunting my TDD loyalty ^_^

CloakingDonkey I feel like you’re trying to say something about the name of the class… but what?
:P

Vexia Funnily enough, this is the first trio where the TDD class hasn’t been my favourite—I actually prefer both the Child of Loki (go figure) and the Enchanted Knight to the Black Rider. Overall though, all three look pretty awesome.

I voted for G next myself. I really want to see what class a Luchorpán would be attached to.

Mark Jacobs Grinnen What can you tell me about about the Child Of Loki class? Hype it! :D haha. I think that’s gonna be what I play.

Damn, I seriously love and look forward to these class reveal videos.  They always have just the right amount of pure wonk information blended with player and dev perspectives and then baked into a tasty treat sprinkled with humor.

IMO this is the best trio that’s been revealed yet! It may not be H, but stuff like the Black Rider/Dullahan (the latter really is easier to remember :P) is why I was interested in playing the Tuatha De Danann in the first place. Maybe I’m biased, but I’m glad we got the coolest shapeshifter! It will be hard to wait for this trio, but the Ornamental Assimilation boon makes me think that time would be well spent either leveling up or making friends with a crafter to provide all the best gear a growing headless equestrian needs. BTW, I’m really looking forward to seeing how the horse gets implemented into the class’s abilities (e.g. the “Rider” part of the name).
I can’t wait to see what other great legends come to life in the remaining classes.
