This week sees a big Halloween sale over at Steam, which includes several MMOs that you might want to pick up while they’re at a discount. The sale ends on November 2nd.

Both The Secret World’s basic and ultimate editions are half-off at $15 and $30, respectively. The ultimate edition includes all of the content from issues 1 through 11, making it a much better prospect than buying the DLC piecemeal.

Other sales include ARK: Survival Evolved, H1Z1, The Park, TERA, Shroud of the Avatar, War Thunder, EVE Online, Otherland, and EldevinSpeaking of things to play for Halloween, check out our guide to all of the events running rampant through MMOs right now!

I’m a day-1 SotA backer. I haven’t paid a penny to the game since, and thoroughly enjoy playing it. It improves month by month in pre-alpha. It’s already a blast in its current state; can’t wait to see how the end product shines.

has anyone play shroud of the avatar? I am wondering if its a cash grab once you’ve purchased it, I don’t mind buying it but don’t want to be left out cause I don’t keep feeding it.

RooWoods I did get gifted the game but I’m going to join the people saying that the entrance price (on sale at least) is worth it if you think of it like a good single-player game that you might only play through once. It definitely has the quest design and writing on par with several of the best in the genre. (Skill wheel is still making my head hurt though, and while I’m warming up to the actual combat, it’s a bit rough at first when you only have starting skills.)

DemonicPossession Koshelkin RooWoods I would hope that they start looking for a company to buy them, then restructure.  You may be losing employees in the mix, but being able to keep some is better than shutting down.

RooWoods I bought the UE last time it went on sale and have so far put in 55 hrs played. Even if it went off line tomorrow… I’d be sad but I couldn’t say I didn’t get my moneys worth.

The story however has been totally worth playing even the small amount I’ve experienced. I would rather have spent the money and got to play what I did than try and save $30 and missed out forever.

mightylawngn0me You get two keys with the UE. You get a key that gives you the base game and a key for all the rest of the content. I didn’t have the game so I needed both keys. I tried applying just the UE key first and it wouldn’t work.

So if you already have the base game you’ll have a key you wont need… I assume you can give it away.

RooWoods $15 is pretty cheap even if let’s say it shuts down by Dec 31 this year, that still gives your 3 months to explore the base game and try to finish the main campaign, which is doable…. Its a wonderful experience for $15…..

So I have a question;

If I buy the Ultimate edition on steam, can I gift the base game and apply the content updates to my current basic game? And is this cheaper than buying issues 1-11 separately atm?

Oooo I might just check out Otherland.  I really liked the books, so will have to tame my expectations, but it will be interesting to see how the developers interpreted and gamified them…
