WRUP: A marvelously spooky tale edition

This is... you know.

As you all know, today is the horror day in which all of the scary things come out. So in today’s very special edition of What Are You Playing, it’s my duty to make you so scared that you scream very specific things. Like, “I am very scared as I read this story!” And maybe, “This is truly the face of horror!” Are you ready? If not, just read the opening paragraph again.

Once upon a time, a man was alive and enjoyed breathing with his ordinary human lungs. Then, one day he found out that he owed a large amount of money in property taxes. The man was very angry, so he went out back to his gun shed. He found that having long conversations with his guns, which were safely stored in a locked cabinet and were not loaded, really helped him come to terms with unpleasant situations. At that point, with no prior warning, something came out of the darkness!

It was a moth. Not even a big one. Let us know what scary stuff you’re up to in the comments after you see our spooky plans for the weekend!

Brendan Drain (@nyphur): If last night is anything to go by, I’ll be flying around losing ships to gatecamps in EVE Online this weekend. I’m debating whether to pick up Guild Wars 2‘s Heart of Thorns expansion or try to join an EVE alliance on one of my alts and see if it’s more fun than I remember.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): If my PC is back in action, I hope to be playing… the reinstall game. And then maybe an actual game. I haven’t really done anything in Guild Wars 2 but respec and add people to the MVOP guild, so I’d really like my PC woes to go away so I can get moving. On the other hand, at this rate, ArenaNet will have fixed all the problems by the time I get to dig in. Good job, launch testers!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog):I’ve nearly capped out my Paladin in Final Fantasy XIV in my pre-patch preparations, so that’s on my agenda. Leveling is also on the itinerary in World of Warcraft, and I also have been having a mad and inexplicable urge to jump into TERA for some reason. Maybe because I was thinking about Castanics the other day? Who knows.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): It would be really great to finish up my journey through the new chapters of Star Wars: The Old Republic‘s expansion — I think I’m getting close! I will definitely be working on my housing plot in WildStar and have started to dabble in Trove as of late.

Matt Daniel (@Matt_DanielMVOP): This coming week marks the beginning of a new Choose My Adventure series featuring Guild Wars 2‘s shiny new expansion, Heart of Thorns, so I figure I’ll go ahead and jump into the game this weekend and refamiliarize myself before things kick off with Wednesday’s column. Also, even though my CMA run with WildStar is over, I had such a good time with it that I think I’ll drop back in over the weekend and continue my journeys on Nexus.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): My main plans revolved around playing The Park. Other than that, I will be hitting up as many Halloween activities in as many games as I can during my available time, including (but not limited to): The Secret World, EverQuest II, Terraria, WildStar, ARK: Fear Evolved, ArcheAge, and Marvel Heroes. I may even pop into H1Z1, Landmark, and Guild Wars 2 if I find enough time.

Your turn!
