BalsBigBrother Icnoevil Steams definition of “mixed” is math based, not human perception based.

If I walked into a restaraunt and asked if the food was good, and they said “half the people here love it”, Id turn around and walk out.

When it comes to being a consumer, 50% (or in steams case “mixed”) is NOT a good thing. Its just a more polite way of saying “Not very good”

Buying this game will give you the same overall feeling as if you were to buy a Rolex off the guy on the street corner who sells stuff out his trenchcoat.

DahkohtLewin I’m waiting to pick it up for sure, could be a great thing but at the moment it seems amazingly underwhelming.  I’ve been looking for something new to play with my wife in the same vein as *Divinity* and this just doesn’t look like it so far.

Icnoevil BalsBigBrother 54% is universally bad? In what uneducated, ignorant-as-fuck universe?
Get a clue buddy.

Icnoevil Well, I have this game in my queue so I wouldn’t know.
All I know is I will play it after I played thru NW’s Underdark heh.

DahkohtLewin Zulika_Mi_Nam Icnoevil I can understand that.  I have gotten pretty good I guess I trusting my eyes much more than my ears.  Probably comes with age and experience, but I did not pay much attention to the DM details anyway.

I hope they put the DM additions in.  Must have went through 20-30 in the beta builds.  I dabbled with DM tools a bit -enough to see that it required a lot of time.  Those that made the modules I played did great with what was available.

Also this being my first game with this combat and camera style made me think highly of it though.

Icnoevil BalsBigBrother I can’t tell if you’re being serious…  You actually told someone to get math lessons because they don’t consider 54% to be universal ?

Zulika_Mi_Nam Icnoevil The devs heavily pushed the DM side though,  that’s where it’s getting the hate from , they at best were unknowingly giving the impression they would be far more customizable than they are , at worst were blatantly misleading for the initial sales.

The story is “ok” , but most weren’t excited and buying for the story , it was the idea of making your own modules the way you wanted to.

This game will be x1000 better , if and only IF , they follow through with all the promises in the patches through December.

The DM tools atm are terrible , limited , and meh at best.

Post Dec patch it should be a completely different and better game.
Shame they wasted their rep , got raped in reviews , for just a couple months instead of launching with that patch in Dec.

Icnoevil To each their own I say.  I do not consider myself a fanboy, but I do like this game.  But also admittedly, I usually do not like what most people do.

It appears that many that do not like it expect it to be something that it is not.  This appears to be based upon the D&D license along with what their perception of what has been portrayed/promised from the devs.  I do not know what any of that is exactly – D&D talk puts me right to sleep.  Most also want to compare it to NWN2 as well – I never played that.

I watched a long stream (by that Bill Murphy guy) back in the beta days and decided I liked what I saw.  I got some questions answered by the Community guy, Ash, during his streams and then bought it and liked it.  I enjoyed the beta when you could only play other peoples modules and enjoyed the story after launch.  I will be back to try out the player made modules later.

I started looking for other similar games, looked at some other streams of the newly enhanced Divinity Original Sin during the sequel KickStarter and now I am enjoying that too.
