It’s Veteran’s Day, and Armored Warfare has decided to give everyone a free tank to celebrate! The T-62 Veteran Main Battle Tank is a camo version of the regular T-62. It boasts “high alpha damage, very good penetration, and excellent armor,” according to the announcement post. All you have to do to claim your own T-62 is log in prior to November 22nd.

You might also want to watch the trailer for your sparkly new death machine, and it’s waiting just after the cut. The trailer, not the sparkly new death machine.

You know, I’m an older guy, a vet, retired, a gamer and a history buff. I’m also a progressive independent liberal (if I have to label my political point of view here in the US..which makes me an odd duck to many). That said, get off the overly sensitive bandwagon and go have a drink.

Yeah I spent ten years in Europe and visited many of the WWI memorial and war sites etc. Also a lot of the WWII sites and other random historical places. I love history, mankind fascinatesme on various levels.

Seriously,  there are better fights to get yourself all up in ire about than some digital mmo game items given out on this day or on any other day.

blackcatcrosses  I had a similar “ugh” sort of thought. Though it wasn’t a WW2 tank it did come out at the start of the 1960s. It’s a crappy tank. lol. No proper night sights etc. If we’re gonna be stuck with 1960’s tech I’d rather have an M60A3.

I’m a combat veteran with a handful of dead friends and I’m not offended in the least.   Perhaps you should turn down your sensitivity dial, Alice.

Armored Warfare replaced World of Tanks on my hard drive — after 11,000 games of the latter, no less.
Basically, it’s WoT without the sucky parts.  There’s a refreshing absence of the ex-Soviet hyper-patriotic bias that is built into the foundations of WoT.  Plus:  missiles!

Severik annoyedbadger Damonvile ah, so your reaction means you have an emotional connection to the 9/11 act….well most of Europe has an emotional connection to Armistice day, its a matter considered deeply significant.

by, the way, disagree all you want, thats fine., But “grow up” just tells me you lack the ability to hold a reasonable debate and means I find it difficult to give any weight to your opinion.
Disagreements are good, and often productive. insults seldom are.

Damonvile As I said I’m not easily offended, so I’m not outraged or anything, I just think its really bad taste and exceptionally bad timing for a global brand to do this.

IF no one voiced an opinion, there would be no points to a comments section! Dont make the mistake of thinking people commenting are sitting there fuming….comment, move on….lots of threads to comment on  :)

annoyedbadger Damonvile What a terrible analogy.  They’re giving out a digital tank that’s used to fight fictional mercenaries in fictional locations.  Your analogy referenced an act of terrorism inflicted upon defenseless civilians.  In keeping with your ridiculous analogy, you would be offering a free airplane in a plane combat game on that day.  While that scenario would still be insensitive, it would be more persuasive than what you wrote.

You also make a jab at Americans missing the point of the holiday, but make no attempt to see things from any perspective but your own.

Grow up.
