Lost Ark will be out of the public’s eye at G-Star

Fans hoping for personal views and hands-on time with the upcoming action-RPG Lost Ark at G-Star are in for a world of disappointment. While the game will be present, developer Smilegate’s booth will be tucked inside the private section and will not be hosting any demos.

The good news is that Smilegate might be withholding because it’s planning to make a big reveal in China soon. If nothing else, Lost Ark fans can drool over the new gameplay trailer that we’ve tucked away in a private section after the break.

Well it seems they ran out of Trailer budget. Making High quality unrealistic or( never to be implement game mechanics)  gameplay  trailer is right now every every expensive.

Qarran I think that was an NPC doing the pulling. But yeah, that first character they showed didn’t take a single hit in a few of those battles.

Craywulf I’m always surprised by how many people are still clickers. As in they click skills with the mouse instead of using hotkeys. That and the cooldowns timer must be why the UI is so suck in it’s primitive state.

Totally off-topic here but sorta related to the game trailer. I gotta say it’s a stunning looking game. the visuals are epic…but I can’t get past the cliché user-interface that a lot of online fantasy roleplaying games use. Do we really need to have those keybound spells displayed onscreen? If consoles games have taught us anything about learning the button controls, why can’t developers use the same logic with PC games? So I got myself wondering why do we need a HUD of keys? The only thing i can think of is cooldowns are varied from key to key. Then this got me wondering, as awesome as the visuals are in this game trailer…wouldn’t be cool if there was way to visually show the cooldown on the weapon or character? Like a gun over heating or sword swing getting visually slower. I’ve often wondered if stamina would be the best way to visually manage cooldowns. Swing a mighty blow might be really slow when your stamina is low. Which can be shown a number of ways in mannerisms. Huffing and puffing to catch your breathe, slouched shoulders, slower movements, dragging feet to point of almost tripping. The cool thing about these visuals is that different types of deficiencies could be ‘tells’ for individual cooldowns of your keys.

I think we’ve gotten so lazy letting these UI do all the work, it’s a wonder why a lot gamers use third party UI mods.

No Lineage Eternal, no Lost Ark. What GStar is even good for?

That is at least two stories of companies opting out of G Star.  The only thing this tells me is G Star – isn’t worth the money for a card table.

Once you decided on playing a game trailers aren’t really what you’re looking for anyway. So the fact that they’re not showing any more of the game doesn’t matter to me. I want to hear about launch dates!
