Now you can save EVE ship fittings from outside the game client

Have you ever wanted to tweak your ship fittings outside of EVE Online’s client? If so, the latest CCP dev blog is worth reading. It talks about a recent update to the CREST API that allows third-party apps (like killboards and fitting applications) to save fits to your EVE character. The blog offers a few examples using Fleet-Up, Pyfa, and zKillboard. It also addresses potential security concerns by suggesting that you double-check whether or not a given app is “requesting any permissions it should not be or that you are not happy with giving it.”

If your game information does become compromised, CCP provides a web link from which you may revoke third-party access.
