ARK: Survival Evolved is scheduled for an ‘imminent release’ on Xbox One

ARK: Survival Evolved is bringing its dino-themed sandbox shooter gameplay to the Xbox One sooner rather than later. VG24/7 notes that developer Studio Wildcard has confirmed an “imminent release” in the form of the Xbox Game Preview, which is a sort of early access program for consoles.

ARK initially launched on the PC via Steam early access last summer, and has maintained a weekly update cadence ever since.

Yeah I had to take a break because of atrocious frame rate issues. My computer has yet to hiccup at fallout 4.
Threre is a disconnect somewhere.

Blackomen Performance does not seem to be tied to how much was spent on a computer.  For instance, my $600 4-year-old machine runs ARK with no problems on a mix of medium and low settings.  Some may call it a potato, but it works for me. :)
Given that console hardware is a known, set thing, maybe it is easier to tune the game specifically for it rather than having to deal with the many variables in the PC market.

Wow, really?  Yikes!  Microsoft has really stringent framerate/functionality constraints for games to get approved for any Xbox platform, too.  Maybe they put most of their team on the console version then, and left the PC version to rot in a manner of speaking?

Release? The performance in this game on the PC is beyond abysmal on even 3k$ rigs, how in the nine hells do they plan to make this playable on console hardware?

I play here and there and its fun for a time but the world is just far too small and server capacities are too small because of the tiny playable area. The game is just too limited in scope and capacity to hold my interest for any real length of time. Like playing in a shoebox.

Archebius Celestia Yeah, I can’t stand ea, but ARK really doesn’t feel like other ea games. When I was running the MOP shard I lost count of how many updates they did every single week, all of which either fixed things or added major new features.

Celestia You mean the cure right? This game is THE poster child for how EA is supposed to work. A set release date, instead of the perpetual EA status of some games. Community involvement, I can look in my vault and see items that exist because the community thought of them. Fast and steady patch releases, you can see the game grow each week. Open and honest dev communication. They are working on fixing issues, you know this because you can see those issues gettting fixed.

I love this game, I am glad to have been a part of it from the start. Its a great game, its EA done right, its damn fun.

Celestia This game is easily the best example out there of how to do free-to-play correctly.
They update so frequently that I have trouble keeping our server on the latest version. The content that’s in there is polished and complete. They are updating both performance and content regularly. And maybe most importantly, it’s danged fun to play.
If I had to pick something to lead the early access charge, ARK would be it.
