Tree of Life changes towers, locks, and more in its latest patch

Fantasy sandbox Tree of Life got a patch this week, which included a number of building system changes designed to make it easier to manage player towns. Previously player towers had to be locked to protect them from player thieves, but said thieves could still pick the locks and disable your towers. The development team decided to do away with that mechanic, so now there are no locks and only the tower owner and guild members are able to use towers, according to the patch notes on Steam. Thieves may still destroy your towers, but no items will be dropped.

Other changes include the durability of locks, the ability to get carpenter XP from making all types of buildings, and a slight increase to fishing success rates depending on the quality of your fishing supplies and your mastery.

Have they made away with the insane armor and weapon durability?

Sorenthaz Blackomen They haven’t fixed almost anything in the game since launch, and I’m not talking minor issues, I’m talking about game-killing desync issues, many of the exploits (Though I admit they did fix some of them.) and even some of the hacks. (Which I personally “SENT THEM” copies of.)

And that is only the crap they failed to fix, on top of that they made the game worse by unbalancing stuff that already worked. Arrow quantities is a good example, they made it increasingly more impossible to defend bases from freaking mobs, let alone players. And yes, I was part of a major pvp guild, the irony isn’t that they made pvp harder, they made it EASIER, to the point where we could raid any base blindfolded, even when they were actively defended.

I haven’t checked back in on the game in a little over a month, but I’ve pretty much abandoned all hope of the devs pulling their heads from their firmly lodged rectums.

Liandreth Sorenthaz Damonvile Also I’d maybe advise waiting to buy the game ’til they get the new map out (which will be 4x larger than the current one and will effectively serve as a map wipe, possibly a player wipe as well) or at least til they get the PvE content patch out (no idea when that’s coming).

Liandreth Sorenthaz Damonvile I mean there’s still open PvP and thieving is still possible even with the consequences for it, so you’re never 100% safe.  But the community seems to have settled down more and grown more tame as a result. So it sounds like there are plenty of friendly folk willing to help new players out.   And it’s a pretty quirky/interesting little sandbox game that imo has a lot of promise if the devs can deliver on the features.
